Yeah I don't know, would have to see the tails in person. They do look more pedestrian now.

If I am not wrong, the dash lighting depends on light conditions within the interior, i.e. dark conditions --> gauges are orange, bright conditions --> gauges are white.

Does anyone know if the eyebrow "does" anything? Is it part of the blinker? Does it light up? Or is it just ... there? I liked the way the eyebrow on my 228i lit up. But in these pictures it looks like it does not illuminate which is sort of a bummer.

For that matter, are there any pictures or videos of the front turn signals? (LED? Incandescent?)

The eyebrows have no function at all.

yeah just watched the 2er video that basically shows it does nothing. That sucks, honestly. Oh well. Definitely one of the least important things about the car.

If anyone can snag pics of the front blinkers and the interior gauges at night that would be great.

I'm not sure about the gauges lights on the LCI. I know that long ago there was talk about the lights being only white with the new the gauges upgrade. It is true that on the pre-LCI it is just as you explained (correct me if I'm wrong) but as far as I remember there will be no more orange on the LCI?

Also the back lights did not impress me at all from the comparison pictures of the pre-LCI & LCI that the OP provided. I actually preferred the old ones... but now I see them from this angle and I'm not too "unhappy" with them. Don't know. What do you think?

Not sure that is correct, I recall reading some BMW info (maybe the UK brochure) which say that with the adaptive full-LED lights the eyebrow is the LED turn indicator, and there are several BMW sources which say the adaptive full-LED lights include LED indicator lights. Everything I've read regarding the standard bi-LED makes no mention of the indicators so it may be the eyebrows do nothing with the bi-LED lights. Soon we'll all know.

I prefer the new tail lights over the pre-LCI ones. What I found disturbing were the yellowish indicator lights, the overall size & the huge reverse lights. IMO the new tail lights due to the dark outer area/frame appear smaller, the yellowish indicators are gone and the reverse light is smaller. Overall the back end of the car looks cleaner.

Yes you're right with that video, though looks like there may be some photoshopping or the like as both times when you see the indicator light working the daytime running lights are not working in that headlight unit (but they are on the right side headlights). I'm did read a BMW press doc about the eyebrow indicator, possible it was a 4 series doc though, will try to find it.

Is this not a standard in some jurisdictions where the LED running light is disabled during turn indication? Believe it is a coding option too.

I think getting rid of the dashboard seam between the instrument cluster and the iDrive screen is a huge upgrade.

I don't like the LCI changes actually. The eyebrow is goofy, the hexagon lights look cheap aftermarket ricer and the all red tail lights are kinda cheap looking too.

I'll take the gauge cluster. But I am not a fan of the headlights or taillights.

Are the spaces on the inside of the light fixture, the circles closest to the grill, blank, or are those for high beam LEDs? The video doesn't show those spaces ever lighting up either

Ill stick with my2017. I like the lights and the old gauges better. Also already have ID6 in my car it's nice but not worth spending the extra money on a 2018.

I'm glad no major changes were made Bmw has been annoying lately with changing there models so quickly mainly with the electronics.

Case closed lol
