Get RoadWarrior! It rolls on with a paint roller, dries clear/matte, and peels right off when you're done. Great for temporary paint protection and/or track duty.

Man, that sucks. I remember my first rock chip on my 1M. Wanted to cry. Lol. At least it will be easier on you when you get your next chip, and you will get your next chip.
Get Dr Colorchip if they have it yet. It's great.

Ugh, no way! Are you going to repair or replace it?

Are people adding PPF to their cars?
I want to know if i should partial front or full front. Man, this is the equivalent to buying an MPE...it's adding up. I need to be sensible with my money.... |

Idk yet. I might just get it filled. I'm going to watch it in the event it starts to crack. I have full glass coverage but I'd rather not mess with replacing it.

Your lucky that the chip wasn't any bigger. I would recommend getting it touched up by a dr color chip specialist before you get the clear bra installed. They can usually fix 95% of the damage for paint chips this small. Good luck.

Dang, that sucks. When I drove my car from Temple to Austin, I was cruising in the slow lane, letting people pass me. I did my damnedest to leave like 100 yards in between me and the car ahead. I literally drove my car straight home, parked it in the garage, then delivered it to XPEL first thing the following Monday morning.

How does that work, they just quickly touch it up with paint?

Bummer mate, so depressing getting stone chips. What area is the chip on, couldn't work it out from the pic?
Also how are you finding down the sides of the car? I know there is already film applied to the rear arches but how is the side skirts going, are the front wheels throwing many rocks up hitting this area? |

Dr Color Chip... I agree! Then at least a full front clear bra...
My brother only did the partial front Xpel of his 911 GTS and got a chip on the hood. He regretted it somewhat. But Dr Color Chip really worked great on it. He is very happy with the result and he did it himself. I remember driving my just bought GT4 up I-95 from Virginia (dealer) to Philly. Heard a pebble slam the side of my car because some idiot took a U turn on the "Authorized Vehicle Only" entrance (traffic jam on the other side of the highway), and proceeded to speed up the emergency lane...where all the rocks are. One flew by and hit me in the side. Dammitcubs, that chip isn't too bad fortunately. Should fix up nice and you will forget about it. But get that Xpel for some peace of mind. Above all..enjoy the car! |

Unfortunately xpel have no installers near me so am currently looking at 3M ppf. Am thinking about getting the front bumper done only as that will take the most hits.

All my rock chips happened on the hood, roof and quarter panels. This was on the 1M. I didn't get one on my front bumper in almost 5 years of driving. Don't know why...aero? Panel material(metal vs plastic)?

I'm not saying to skip the bumper but odds are you will get a chip at least on the hood if you don't cover that also.
