All I heard was ?this light is the best? and ?3D printed?
Sick tech bro. If these lights aren?t fitted with Laser, then eye candy clearly has become a huge factor in modern race ?tech?. |

Sodium D Fraunhofer yellow spectrum has a history in optics and atmosphere - not really sure if this is why this particular color is used. But yellow fog lamps as often used in older Mercedes fog lamps may help offset the blue spectrum that is associated with the water vapor mist of early morning fog and that yellow i think helps with depth of field at night where the human eye loses its perception of distance at night. |

Yellow is designated for GTLM and GTD classes. White are Prototype/DPi classes. It dates back to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Different colored lights are critical because drivers will flash them when they want to make a pass. In the instance of the Prototypes/DPis they can run upwards of 20mph faster in the straights. As a GTLM car seeing white headlights in your mirror you know they are going to be faster and may be coming on at a greater rate of speed than a competitive GTLM or GTD car with yellow lights in your mirror.
Another fact to know which cars are GTLM vs GTD; pro class cars (GTLM) feature red number backgrounds, windshield banners, mirrors, leader lights, and wing end plates while the pro-am class cars (GTD that features a pro driver and amateur driver) use the color green.

This car and all of it's features and design are functional and specifically engineered to make it go faster on a track. M division has not lost it's way quite yet, if they did they wouldn't be involved in and competing aggressively in so many series. This car is a masterpiece. |
