I believe G80 coming in the year 2020. Competition model probably will follow a year after launch (if they keep the trend as is)

Sound, yeah definitely I hope so and wish BMW has learned some lesson. However, exhaust sound can be always be modified using after market exhaust system and DP. But fingers crossed that they will offer G80 singing on the road.

Doubt that BMW will equip M xDrive as standard with new gen G80 M3/M4 as this feature is an expensive thing to be put on. If they will, then it will be optional with about the same cost as CCB IMO.

I don’t track my cars. So not an issue for me. I barely go past 50 mph these days. So the Ferrari would be the gym car and likely would just to tick off the bucket list. My buddy who is not into cars wanted a Ferrari, but was worried it would be too flashy, bought a 9114C. Grew out of it in months, Traded for a Maserati...months later traded for the original Ferrari....

Lol

I never bought a Ferrari or gt4 because I didn’t want to be selfish since I have a kid. So I’m just waiting for the kid to be old enough

It should sound better because it will have an S58 (based on the B58, which sounds more like an N55 to me).

They have the technology now with the m5 so it would be sweet to have it trickle down to the m3.

The S55 was based off the N55 right? It seems the S55 sound has something to do with the way they setup the engine and exhaust around the second turbo. It's like two 3 cylinders.

In a realistic sense I am looking to buy a Porsche GT4 most likely the 981, even though the new one is rumoured to have a naturally aspirated engine also, something about the 981 which just looks amazing. Of course the Porsche GT3 is the dream, but I don't want all my money to go into it plus at 27 still young and have aspirations to travel!.

Don't get me wrong I love BMW as a brand for me it's one of the best but I couldn't see myself upgrading to an M4 M2C M5,M8 and so on.

But just out of interest what are you as owners aiming for next? will you stick with BMW? Or move on?.

I for one with all these new emission laws want a naturally aspirated car next at all cost!.
Nazdar, tak isto som z Cechu, ale byvam v US teraz us 30 plus let.

I was in the same position in terms of cars before getting into the M2. I was looking at used Cayman GTS's or 997 S but prices never dropped as I had anticipated, plus no/limited warranty. Next car will be a Porsche especially since I got myself a winter car this year.

I see my self with the M2 for quite some time, maybe adding an X3 M40i second hand at some point in the next 2-3 years.

To replace the M2 it would be hard but maybe a Cayman GT4 like others have said, but not for quite some time.

Same block, but everything else is different - cooling, turbos, and most significantly all the exhaust gas ducting (which is what makes it sound different). It really is a different animal.

Just curious what you mean 2 3 cylinders? I’m trying to conceptulizs the difference? The forced air I would have assumed the twin scroll pulse would replicate the twin turbo.?
