I am keeping my current M2 its a great car, my next car will be something different like a Cayman GTS or 911, doesn't make sense to me to get essentially the same car again. The Comp is an evolution of the M2 not revolution, new engine yes but the vast majority of the car is the same.
Solonas, Good for you! Your M2 is a fine car, enjoy it in good health.

Couldn't agree more with prettfan above. Keeping my M2 for awhile but when I do change, it will be for something different.

I think that thing will be off the charts and will carry the same spirit as the new F90, which blasts its competition on all levels.

With that being said, BMW M restored my faith I have for them with the latest F90.
No doubt the F90 is a beast. The F90 is basically a BMW version of an AMG. Similar awd/rwd system and torque converter transmission. A mini F90 takes away the identity of the M3/M4. It all works for a big body saloon. But for the M3, thanks...but no thanks.

By the way, anyone hoping for a new exhaust note from the S58. Think again, in the recent X3M videos...it basically sounds the same as S55.

I wouldn't rush and sell my current M2 for comp. M division is working night and day with new models ( CS- CSL-GTS) and am sure we will have a couple of new better modified M2 before the end of 2020.

By 2020 you will have better options to buy, more powerful hardcore M2, a new Cayman GT4

Dont sell it , one day you will notice that it didnt worth to sell it . Its not a car to sell ! Its a car thats literally is the first M of the 2 series .. just buy another car buddy ! But keep the M2 if your wallet accepts its !

Sure they are working on those models guys , but it all depends on the driver and the area your driving , im driving in a small island in the meditterenean , which only have one " track" , a wannabe track , anyway and really im more than happy with the original M2 , that even if before 2020 they will release a 500hp M2 and call it whatever CS CSL etc , i wont go for them . Im just fine and more than ok with the original M2 .

I am not thinking that the next M3 should be like the F90. Just carry some of his spirit - in terms of being way better than the competitors cars. The F90 outshines the AMG E63S in every way. The steering is better, the AWD system ever more sophisticated and the weight is less. The AMG is the typical "steam hammer", while the F90 is a razor sharp instrument that you can use on the track and is much more enjoyable there.

I just think the next M3 will be a big step up for BMW and will demolish the competition once again, like back in the old days.

Now that we see the car is fatter and cost more and if I read correctly marginally heavier in the front... no not really.

150lbs more for a normal driver isn’t material but for a track car that’s quite a bit considering people spend lots of money to lower weight of wheels brakes seats etc.

I think it’s nice they gave people what they want to sell more cars but not sure having a “real” m engine and Mirrors made sense in this scenario.

- I have a little problem with the M2C engine ; i love every thing in this new M2C except the front grille(s) and the fact that it has 2 turbos, really, i love my twinscroll little blower in my N55 and will keep it for a long time and as someone said in this post ( MG M2 owners are smarter ); wait for the coming version(s) of the M2C as BMW reads forums on internet, its very probable that they would change some cosmetic stuff like the front grilles for those like me not liking the one piece grille or ( i know its a dream) put an atmospheric 6 inline from heaven which would be orgasmic.
- Certainly the M2C is a fantastic car no doubt.

I am definitely keeping my 2016 M2.I thought about upgrading but I don’t track my car and I am totally satisfied with the performance of my M2.I would also miss the sweet exhaust note of the N55 engine. The old school M gauges also look way better in the MY16 and MY17 M2,along with the original dash design. It makes the interior feel much more sporty compared to the plainer flat dash design of the LCI M2.I’m also not a fan of the new front bumper and kidney grille design on the M2 Competition. The current M2 design looks perfect.

I think no. Drive an M3 to see if you like the S55. I am thinking you won't find it as amazing as the journalists and forum posters say. Just my 2c.

If you're going to drop that kinda money, I'd wait for the CS

Now that the M2c US pricing is out, my build is just shy of 65K MSRP and I would like it because itll be a large upgrade over my curent car a 335i, and the new modding headroom will be significantly higher for improving its performance as a dedicated sports car.

this is where marketing seems to pull one over on the forumgoers. The cars aren't that different. If you want a dedicated sports car you're going to want to mod a lot more than just throwing some power at it. The M2 needs suspension and tires as the first mods if you want to make it a weekend track car. In this sense whether you mod an M2 or m2c won't drastically change things. you're going to get more tuned potential in the m2c but is that really usable on its own? doubt it.

normally when I'm done with a car. its quote built. and just look at lap times of people with m2 that have done s55 swaps, the difference is substantial
