iPhone 8 Overheating

when I place the iphone 8 in the wireless charger in the morning, it seems to charge the phone, not quickly, but there is a charge. However, when I drive home in the evening and perform the same routine, when I get home, the iphone barely charges but is also really warm to the touch.

Has anyone run into a similar issue? Not sure if there's something I need to set on the iphone before placing it into the wireless cradle?

Yep, I have the same issue. It doesn't matter what time of day though, the iPhone is always hot to the touch when I cradle it. I just stopped doing it but would love to hear about a solution.

Mine ACTUALLY did overheat and had the warning display on the phone and the CarPlay screen. Wireless isn't all it is cracked up to be. Note it only seems to do this when I charge and it is below 40% to start.

Is this a design flaw with their wireless charging? Have brought it back to the dealer to confirm.
