Reversing Camera Setup

The second I remove my stick shift out of reverse the camera and guidance system switches off. I am told by my service advisor that the behaviour of my car is "Normal"
On my previous MINI's the camera did not switch off till you were moving forward. This seems like a better idea as I often put my cars in neutral just before I stop going in reverse and "coast" the last 6" or so.
I know I can code this out but it does not seem like a good idea for it to operate this way....am I missing something? Does your car do this to?

Lol, It's normal.

I'm laughing because you clearly missed what it was like to be on this forum in 2016/2017 when all the Pre-LCI guys were complaining for the exact opposite reason.

The pre-LCI's (up until mid to late 17) camera's and PDC used to stay on till you shut the car off or put the car into gear and many people complained because the PDC beeping wouldn't stop (which was insanely annoying) so bmw patched it to turn off when you leave reverse in a subsequent istep update.

Is there a way to get a full picture from the backup camera? Mine is only 1/2 screen.

I don't think so.

I checked all of the menus in the car, multiple ESYS cheatsheets and bimmercode, and couldn't find anything.

the way to describe your car working now if the way it works on m2 with updated software. Older m2 software it worked the way your mini worked.
