I thought that was only for the US and not for Oz..
Well, it arrives April, so time will tell.

Maybe dealer can install the RED button in a more convenient position in the cabin.

Has anyone here had the updated MPE installed yet ??

Here is a pretty good DIY to bypass the red button:

If anyone is looking for a near new LCI DCT, let me know. Bought it for the missus (yes I’ve bought 3 M2s lol) as her second car but she doesn’t like it. Finds the doors too long and heavy compared to her old M135i which makes it difficult for the kids to get in and out.

I don't know if this will help (or change your wife's decision), but we've been struggling a bit with the doors as well ... they are hard to get leverage on and our garage isn't particularly wide so end up trying to get through a narrow opening ... when I remembered a post about coding Comfort Access.

The coding is discussed in the general Bimmerlink thread, and there is a dedicated thread for just Comfort Access.

What this coding change does is to move the driver and passenger seats rearwards when the engine is turned off and the door opened. So we just crack the doors open ... the seats move back ... then we can more easily open the doors and get out of the car. Getting back in is easier as the seats are moved back ... when the car starts, they move back into position.

I understand you've bought stacks of Bimmers, so you'll probably know a fair bit about Comfort Access - my apologies if I'm telling you stuff you've already considered. I see your wife has the DCT, so she'll have the electric seats that are required for this option.

Anyway, just a thought in case it helps. Probably worth the cost of the coding to see whether this sufficiently addresses what your wife/kids don't like

Cheers,

Cheers,
Hey thanks for this. I’ve never really thought about coding for the seats to move back. Don’t really think it will make any difference for her though unfortunately. There is also another way to help you btw. You can lower the windows to get into the car. I personally find that it helps.

Thanks for the suggestion: we used the windows down approach for a while, but it didn't really help - for us, moving the seats back seems to have been more effective as it allows more control of the doors.

Just seems a shame to ditch a brand new car, especially one as good as the M2 so I thought that maybe a bit of coding may help if your wife is not already committed to finding a replacement.

Can anyone please post what they have recently paid for an LCI M2 with DCT in light of the Competition coming out? I am in the market but still getting told $105k+ by dealers, or should the prices have dropped already?

If anyone also have a good salesman I can deal with, also appreciated. I am in the ACT.

Picked up my FY18 LCI in LBB non pure with sun roof/heated seats / tints and MPE for $104k DA late January if that helps.
Call some Sydney dealers as they would have more stock or cancelled orders to move and will negotiate.

Thank you for sharing. That's the exact spec I am after!

Calling up is not the best.. since they wont really negoitiate over the phone and you just come across as a tyre kicker.

But first of all: I am still not sure what price I should be paying in light of the M2 Comp announcement; so it's hard for me to negotiate without all the information at hand. Once I have some solid / actual prices (not: "my friend got told" type stories; then I can go ahead and call/negotiate.

People are stating sub $90K but I have no idea whether that's for real or not, so don't want to be unrealistic and come across as a low baller, for example.

If I got a sub $90K M2 offered to me with your specs I would simply take it... but no one is offering me that when I call/ask.

Carsales doesnt help either since dealers are all still stating $110K+ for new...

That car supposedly offered for 89k must have been an non LCI or demo surely.

I paid 103k for my 6MT MGM non pure LCI last October. It was already in transit to Melbourne but unspoken for so my dealer had it sent to Brisbane after arriving at the port.

Was 86.6K driveaway for LCI metallic roof DCT with special promotion in Feb/March for employees of certain companies. Conditions were 2017 models and delivery before end of March. With M2C coming out I'm sure prices will drop significantly.

first time poster in here. Does anyone in melb have a dealer they can recommend for a m2 purchase?

i am in the market now and want to get a good deal. Love the idea of the comp but no way a toy for 120k will fly.
