M2 Dealership Deals
Hello all,
New to the forum, I currently have a $1000 down at the local dealership for the M2 Competition. I’m currently #1 on the list however they have an Alpine White, manual with some carbon fiber port installed bits for $57,000 out the door (with my USAA $2000) discount. My question is with all the M2C chatter, does it make sense to snag a new M2 now? Anyone else finding decent M2 deals at dealerships right now? Cheers, Jake |

If I was looking to get my first M2, I'd snag one right now, as the timing (and deals) couldn't be better. I think this M2 would be good enough for me as a daily driver, but you need to see what works best for you.

There are some recent post of what people paid to compare your price but in the end, it's your decision on which is right for you. I made that decision last week and went with a 2018 base on my situation.

I would if there was an MT nearby, but everything in a reasonable distance is either DCT or wrong color.

Base prices have been released for the M2C. It is close to $60K with shipping plus what ever options you may want.
So it all depends on your budget and whether you can wait until August or later for the M2C. |

Unfortunately, I cannot upload pictures (the attachment button doesn’t do anything). Anyways, like I said, it’s a manual Alpine White with port installed CF front spoiler and rear spoiler, blue brake calipers with the executive package. I can have it off the showroom floor for $56,250 with 12 miles on it.
I think it’s pretry much official now that the M2C will start at $59,795 (including dest. fee). I probably won’t option it out much since it seems a lot comes standard on the US model. I might put on some port installed carbon fiber bits but that’s it. I test drove the white M2 and it was an absolute blast! And I only live a few miles from the dealership so I definitely have car fever. I’ve been saving for a long time and currently have a 1998 BMW 323is 5spd that’s now exceeding 260,000+, I’ll still probably keep it since it’s still pretty much mint apart from the miles as the everyday driver. But if pricing is right on the M2C I’m only going to spend ~$5,000 more so I think I’ll wait... but I hate waiting haha. M2C (Manual) $58,900 MSRP $895 Dest. Fee $500 South Carolina Tax/Booking Fees $550 HS Metalic Paint $700 Port Installed CF Rear Spoiler $1500 Port Installed CF Front Splitter Total: $63,045 Agreed Incentives USAA Military Discount $-2000 Free dealer installed Tint & Nitrogen BMW Performance Center Delivery Grand Total: ~$61,045 |

I’m not a fan of buying end of a model year, even when the car is getting no changes. The M4 is about to change to 2019. Yeah they offer bigger discounts on a 2018, but you also drive off the lot with more depreciation. In the end it evens out when you go to sell or trade in, as you will have a one year newer car. In the case of the M2, the Competiton is almost like a new model. |

My opinion: Unless you really can't wait I'd get the M2C. I love my M2 and I don't think it's worth upgrading, but if I was looking right now I'd get the new one for sure. Especially if I can get a delivery in Aug/Sep. I think you get a lot for your money with the M2C and they have changed it enough to make the regular ones look a bit dated.

Besides factoring in cost savings and the pros/cons of the LCI vs. Competition, how anxious are you to get a car?
Although you're #1 on your dealer's list, when will your production slot be assigned in Germany in relation to all their worldwide orders? Then it has to be produced, shipped across the ocean, go thru the VPC and the dealer before you can take delivery of the car. http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1225876 |
