Take the US fee, double it, then put a GST and Provincial tax on it, and you will be in the ballpark :-)

Wow. Ours are up to $150 but negotiable lower with the dealer. Plus sales tax of course.

$499 at all Calgary and Edmonton dealers..

One thing I would say is negotiate your freight. I have seen anywhere from $2995 to $4995. I have shipped a car across Canada. It costs about $2K.

That's not quite accurate.
At least in calgary both dilawri dealerships specify 595 admin fee, 100 ac tax, 16 tire tax.
Freight and pdi in both dealership here is 2995 on non m cars.
3500 or 3600 on m cars.

And they don't budge on fees specifically.

That's why I got my car from Kelowna.
Fair discount and fees were less.

Thanks. So BMW Canada shows $595 as the admin on the M2 and $2440 freight and PDI again on the M2.

Well sorry to say, but I have negotiated that amount as stated, on an M car, and I've had 3 new ones. As I said it costs about $2k to ship a car privately, so my limit is $3k from a dealership. Though I've heard lots of good things about Kelowna. Personally I really enjoyed working with Bavaria BMW (not a Dilawri company)

Ah cool. That's good info. I personally had no luck on those fees locally this year in calgary.

Well your mileage may vary. Like maybe you got a better outright discount for example. The way dealers negotiate your final price could take many forms.

I balked at the $3500 M Car Freight & PDI and they reduced it to match the BMW website fee of $2795. The fact that they did this for me makes me feel like I didn’t work them hard enough on price.

I have first allocation at 2 dealers in Vancouver for a M2C, I asked about the dealer fees at the time and was told that they wouldn't be able to move on them, they were wanting 4700 for freight/PDI and dealer fees. As for the current M2, I walked out the door with a good discount and all of the BS fees removed on an OTD price so I took it and ran.

Sounds like if there is room or desire to offer a discount they will take it off either the car price or the freight & pdi.

Bmw Canada fees are $2440 for freight and PDI and $595 admin.
They are not allowed to charge more. But I doubly Bmw Canada cares. It’s unfortunate that this is routine with BMW. Mercedes dealers don’t play these games, at least not in Canada (or maybe I’ve been unlucky/lucky).

He explained to me the additional money was for the dealer to cover the break-in service. I don’t buy that because I would think BMW reimburses the dealer for this.
