Apex 18" FL-5 and Hoosier tire fitment
Hi there ,
I have BMW M2 with more than 500 whp . I want to go with Apex 18" wheels and Hoosier R7 tires . Currently I have KW clubsport suspension. Kindly could any track expert help me choose the best tire and wheel size to fit my car for tracking setup . The car currently have VFF 103 wheels 19" and I want to change the wheels for tracking to 18" but I confused of which size of wheels and tires will fit my car and handle the power . Apex FL-5 18" size ?! Hoosier tires size !! Help me figure the best setup. |

More than 500 whp huh? Not sure about FL-5 clearing brakes, I know EC7 does for sure. I have 18x10 and have run 285/30/18 hoosiers. 285 may not fit if your ride height is very low and you don't have much negative camber. 275 on a 18x10 should fit for sure if you have the correct offset.

for the moment, I think, Apex only has the FL-5 in 18" x 9.5" et 22 or et 35.
I have et22 with hankook RS4 275/35s on my car and they look great. needs more negative camber, than stock, up front to work. This sunday will be my first track day with this setup.

I ran 18x10 with 275/35/18 on my e92 and will put same setup on my M2 when I get suspension installed. The Hoosiers seem to stick out a little further than other 275 tires such as NT01s.

I might be able to offer some guidance here!
We would recommend the following fitment for the high powered M2's: 18" Staggered: Front: 18x9.5" ET28 - 265/35-18 Rear: 18x10.5" ET40 - 285/35-18 Keep in mind that negative camber is required up front to clear the fenders. We do also recommend 275/35-18, as this can also fit, but more camber needed for clearance. With the 18x10.5 ET40 in the rear, you will be able to utilize up to a 295/35-18 tire without the need for spacers or fender work. I hope this information was helpful. - Max
