But no M2 GC, correct?
THAT would be the car to have.

If that's the case, I don't think it's worth it. Rather buy a M2.

Just for giggles I optioned out the 4 cars that are a good match for what I am looking for. These cars are M2, M3, RS3, TTRS. Options are spec'ed realistically for what I am looking to gain along with incentives I have directly encountered.
Summary of OTD pricing: M2: $61,046 RS3: $67,758 M3: $69,618 TTRS: $81,254 M2 Alpine white(not a fan of other colors), dct, exec pkg 57,795 pre total -2,500 fleet 55,295 total $61,046 (10.4% tax) $0 incentives RS3 options per my likings 55,450 575 nardo 3900 tech pkg(need b&o + virtual cockpit/gps) 1450 dynamic pkg(incl sport exhaust) 61375 total $67,758 (10.4% tax) $0 incentives M3 64995 950 Merino Leather 2900 DCT 68845 pre-total 65560 pre-total 1k over invoice -2500 fleet discount 63060 total $69,618 (10.4% tax) $0 incentives Ttrs 65,875 575 nardo 3500 tech(need b&o) 1750 black optic (hate the silver trim) 900 design interior (need this to differentiate from tt/tts) 1000 rs sport exhaust 73600 total $81,254 (10.4% tax) $0 incentives

Fourteen months on the M2 waitlist has me at least wondering about the RS3, and if I could get Nardo Gray for 575 (I'd assumed it would be multiples of that), that's a plus on my own idiosyncratic balance sheet. 4 doors another plus, and relative stealth factor a huge plus. But automatic transmission in a sports (not track) car?..... I dunno if I'm there yet.

Interesting.. My list is M4 (used/Manual), M2(Manual), RS3, R8 (used/Manual) in order of price. Started with just wanting the M2, but tired of waiting for one. Probably will get the RS3 at this point unless I can convince the wife on the R8, even though I want a manual and no sunroof which I can't do with the RS3

I was told it's coming and I have a deposit down. Actually have deposit on that and M2?? assume 240 but who knows, as well. Actually that would be a fun thread to start, list anything you have deposits down on and note which are still vaporware.

The RS3 looks like a great value in the US, until you realize that we do not get virtual cockpit as standard even though all of the stupid auto websites seem to think we do.
~59,300 (tech package only) is more expensive than a LBB + exec 6MT M2... I would love for the LCI to include a refreshed dash and/or optional adjustable suspension. My two complaints about BMW are the relatively old tech vs. Audi (virtual cockpit is awesome) and I worry about the harsness of the suspension for daily driving duties in a city that sees a lot of snow and has shit roads from it. The magride on an Audi is kind of magical - my TTRS isn't quite a cloud, but it rides softer than my sporty VW did or my brother's WRX (both stock standard suspension). One button press and it's stiffer than a sailor home on shore leave. Perfect Jeckyl/Hyde system. And who tracks an Audi? People who only have the space or finances for a single car, and who like AWD due to weather conditions. I've been to several HPDEs with my TTRS, and have had it down at the Dragon 3 times now as well.

I'm an IT guy by trade and tech nerd by choice. I like HPDEs, parts of US Hwy 129, NC 28, and the Cherohala Skyway. I'm also a fan of aural pleasure. |

So, I just off the phone with the RS Certified Guru at Audi and he just confirmed a 2017 allocation for me.
It's interesting because the order details list the 2017 RS3 as a "Season of Audi - Special Edition." What sucks though is that it's preconfigured with the "Poplar, brown silver inlays" vs the "Carbon Inlays" that I wanted. Not a deal breaker but definitely bummed. I'm also surprised at how quickly this car is coming. Supposedly set to arrive at the Houston Port around the first week of June. I hope BMW comes out with some more info regarding the 2018 LCI M2, or I might end up with the RS3.

Watch out. Don't know how it works in Canada, but the dealer needs the trade-in vehicle to make the money they anticipate making when they sell it. If you come in without the vehicle, they will very likely start the deal all over again, with you needing even more money to do the deal. I would clear that with your dealer ahead of time so you are not surprised to find your deal is no longer on the table. Better to negotiate total out the door price for the vehicle you want and then just pay that.

I'd at least have a telephone or face to face conversation with him/her to make sure you're both on the same page. Not saying he/she is not good for his word, but always better to avoid surprises when it's delivery day and you've got your pen out.
