2016 M2 no sound from driver door speakers

So annoyed with this. I assume it's the HK amplifier and the channel that powers the front driver door. All the other 6 channels on the amp powering the remaining 10 speakers are good. I scanned with BimmerLink and it shows a code that was thrown that seems related. I tried completely disconnecting the HK amplifier along with the negative terminal of the battery, reseating the cables and that didn't do anything. I can't even find a new OEM amp online either. I know there are aftermarket amps for $1100+ like Bavsound however I'm not even 100% sure it's the amplifier. Plus it seems going the aftermarket route complicates servicing your car. I'm no longer under warranty so not sure that I care about that or that it really is an issue I need to concern myself with to be honest. Anyone have a similar experience/problem and if so how did you resolve?

With over 10 million miles on it, I'm impressed it lasted this long.

I would try to isolate the problem before deciding on a next move. Perhaps you could try hooking up the right speakers on the amp side to the known-working left channel? If the right channel is toast this would confirm it. But perhaps it's not - could be something else. Harness issue? I dunno. Good luck

Thanks. That would be a lot of work but it would help troubleshoot further.

I did notice orange rust like deposits all over the crevasse where the amp is installed so I'm thinking water from that vent that is right over the amp.

I also found this TSB that shows a water shield installation over the amp!

It's 99% likely to be the amp in this car. Bad design to place it there and not make it water resistant.

Yeah that's my thought as well. I also can't believe how expensive the OEM replacement amp is. It's ridiculous. Swapping it out is very easy so I would do it myself. I'm just not interested in spending over a grand.

Get an Audiotec-Fischer Match UP 7 BMW. It’s plug and play and much better than the stock amp. You can dramatically improve the sound quality with the DSP. The stock amp DSP tuning was done by interns or something.

Good call out. Found it on Crutchfield but it's out of stock with no date on when it will be available again. :

I hadn't seen this option when I was looking and had only seen the Alpha 1 by Bimmer tech and the new one from Bavsound.
