2021 M2C Apple Carplay

Maybe it's a bit off topic, but I'm trying to understand if I get a full screen Apple bloatware I get no bimmercode coding capabilities for the head unit. Is that accurate?

This is false. Only later production MY21s have full screen carplay. I have a MY2021 M2C that was built in October and I only have 2/3rds screen carplay.

I mean to say those cars that were built in 2021. Not 2021 model, but yea you are right.

Do we know for certain that the switch happened when the calendar year flipped from Dec 2020 to Jan 2021? This is the first I'm hearing of this, would be very interesting.

Not confirmed, dealer told me deliveries in 2021 have full car play. Posts from this forum indicate the same.

My car arrived to the US in March, and I do not have full screen CarPlay. It was some time shortly after that.

My car arrived mid April and it had full screen. When I noticed and asked my CA about that she said they had been arriving like that.

Late 2021 has Fullscreen from factory

I had fullscreen carplay enabled through a software I purchased here https://www.facebook.com/Bmwtechservices/

Had no issues on my 2020 M2C or 2019 M240i. It's was pretty pricey so if there are free / cheaper options I would explore those. It was worth the $125 for me.
