But the model 3 is not going to be available till 2018 at the earliest... it's just a refundable deposit to hold a spot in line. While I can afford to pay cash for a high end model ride... I personally don't feel like wasting money. I pretty much just buy and own my cars (Drive them into the ground, I have never sold a car in my life, and I still have every car i ever purchased in my driveway. |

I don't get why people camped out for the 3. I have a few friends that did that. Funny when you consider they will be mass producing the 3 and there really is no need to camp out and reserve one, especially for something you don't get to see or drive for almost 2 years...
Tesla did a good job marketing the 3 and hyping it up. They're trying to do what Apple does with iPhone. With that said, electric cars are good to lease and not buy due to battery tech changing so fast. In 3 years it will be obsolete. Another thing is that people bought into Tesla for exclusivity and that just isn't the case anymore (especially in Silicon Valley). |

I mean I will order the car or buy it from somewhere else as long as I have seen/driven the same model. Anyways the model 3 just looks like a small model X to me. I dunno how I feel about the dash with nothing except the center screen. However I think it will sell like hot cakes and I think it's a big step forward for electric cars. I wish the base model could get like 350 miles, I dunno why but I feel that's a good number. 200 still seems a bit to little to me. Also wish they would change up their designs a bit all 3 cars look practically the same to me. That being said I do think Tesla is doing for electric cars what the iphone did for smart phones. There were "smart" phones before the iphone but they were all shit. The iphone showed everyone else what was possible. |

Tesla model 3
Did anyone else watch the Tesla model 3 unveil last night on their website? Curious to see what your guys thoughts on it are and if you preordered one?

I don't like how it looks to be honest. Looks no different than a KIA. I'll stick to gasoline powered vehicles while I still can.

No specs yet, just base price, and production in late 2017. I assume north coast could expect deliveries in 2018. Thats way to far even to think about buying one

Not to mention the second they sell over 200k the tax credit will go from 7500 to 3500. They are still working on the car too what we saw yesterday might be different 2 years from now.

Also, the option to get my deposit back at anytime is a no risk activity. I personal plan to get a loaded (fully optioned) ride. |

Exterior design can be done by the aftermarket. Not enough vehicles on the road to make it worth the while to invest in just yet. But I think with a mainstream price point of the Model 3, we are now going to see a honda civic like platform for the after market arena to target modders with $$$

If I had the extra $1000.00 laying around I would reserve one. You have nothing to lose except a few dollars in interest over the next couple years, and you can change your mind and get your money back until you spec your car for production and delivery. I would certainly need to drive one before committing but my interests are certainly piqued for now.

Buddy of mine pre-ordered one. I mean its nice, I like the concept of zero maintenance and free "gas". Car looks nice, base model is gonna lack in performance so will need to spend another X amount of money to step up. They also need to get more supercharger stations, we only got 4 here and closest one is like half hour away.
If I had one near by and places where I usually go, and if $35-37k would get you a loaded version then I would be very interested considering I actually like the car when I see it. |
