Lightweight M2 Cabriolet

Besides all the discussions about the M2 Competition, Lightweight built a M2 Cabriolet, which was presented yesterday:

It's a F23 chasis with wide body kit and fascia. And engine tuning.

Not a F87 to base from.

There was room in the BMW lineup for an F88 M2 Cabriolet Competition Package. Scott26 answered my post over a year ago stating there wouldn't be one.

All I want is an M2 Cabriolet Competition Package in BMW Individual Purple Silk Metallic, grey leather/alcantara seats, 6-speed manual, M Performance brake kit and some kind of exhaust system, maybe Supersprint.

But hell nooooo, we can't have nice things. Rant over. This conversion at current exchange rates is $89,500.

This (IMHO) is beautiful. I can't stop looking at the photos. I imagine that though this would be expensive, it wouldn't be truly difficult to do.

The front fenders are bolt on aren't they? The doors are the same, the side skirts clip in, and the front and rear bumpers bolt and screw on.

The most difficult part would be the rear arches, which wouldn't be as difficult as a coupe, because there is no roof line or pillars to worry about. Do you really think this is just a wide body kit? I'm more inclined to think that it's M2 rear fenders cut and welded to fit; no?

I would say that they are cut and welded from M2 parts

Are they planning on selling this? Or is it just a showcase built from a M240i? Did they do anything on the inside?

I think it looks pretty sweet. Main reasons for choosing the M2 over the M240i for me was the trivial difference in price, and the sound.
