Judging by your photo you would not had any trouble hitching a ride while here.
Must of found it hot after coming from the French Alps.
Has your M2 arrived?
No sign of my M2 which was ordered in april ! I had no trouble except being stuck for a day by the side of the road in a ghastly place called Home Hill, southeast of Townsville in sugar cane country. All the drivers seemed to be old men wearing flat caps and driving Japanese cars. Then I got held at gun point for a while by a lunatic. Apart from that it was great !

Bought my M2 from Townsville.

The guys with flat caps are retired Mafia that have taken up " cane" growing.

Holly hell I don't believe it. I was born in Home Hill just south from Ayr. Small world. Sorry to hear u were at gun point . It's a town that every one knows each other. You would have travelled over the Burdekin bridge going to Townsille. Sounds like u were backpacking. I never had the desire to wear a flat cap so to speak. I ordered my M2 in Nov last year and picked it up in April. Big problem I can't get a car bra as yet. What the hell do I do to protect the front from stone chips ?

How come you've been unable to get a clear bra? I got my front bumper done asap.

I live out in the central west of NSW with no one that specialises in clear wrap application.
Looks like I will have to travel all the way to Sydney and will probably pick up stone chips on the way.

Thinking of applying A4 laminating pouches with sticky tape and see if that works until a bra comes out.
The worry is pissing me off.

You can get it done in Canberra, if that helps. Autografika have done my last two cars (https://www.autografika.com.au)

Oh i see, i think some people have used clear contact as a temporary measure on long trips.
The front bumper of the M2 is a stone magnet, even though i got the ppf applied with only 90kms on the car i still had copped 2 small chips beforehand.

Yes I know what you mean about the bumper. I had some stuip lady drive over the white road edge line on new road where the gravel collects and showered me. Ended up with 2 chips which took me 3 weeks to gradually fill up the hole and buff back flat. Turned out ok and you can't notice them unless you get up close and look hard. Hey guys Auto barn has got the Alpine white touch up which blends perfectly. Don't know about LBB. They also got the clear coat but I used a very small drop of super glue as a clear. Works smick.

Awesome mate, congrats.

You will have to give us your thoughts on how you think it compares to the 1M in the coming weeks.

Yes that was me in the black 135i. It looks a lot better when it's clean

Your car looks fantastic and sounds great too. You had a massive smile so must be enjoying it.

I absolutely love this car. I took the long way home and then jumped briefly on the motorway to make up some time.

Hope you didn't think I was a dick dropping down a gear as I went by, I was constantly varying the revs on that stretch as part of the break in.

Glad you're enjoying the car.

I was glad you dropped a gear as you were going past as I enjoyed the exhaust sound.

my dealer said there was no break in... but i was skeptical because i knew a lot of people in this forum have mentioned it. I've been keeping it below the recommended 5.5rpm as mentioned in the manual but i have done a bit of freeway driving at constant speeds :S. Does this really have a negative effect on the engine?

No does not hurt the engine in any way at a constant speed on the highway.

The piston rings bed in as soon as it is started but the bearings etc crankshaft takes longer up to 50000klm. Best method is to go up mountain roads but keeping under 5000 rpm. This load up the engine a little and makes for a well run in engine. Mountain roads are hard to find so the next best thing is to load up the boot.

I've always followed this method for my cars and never had a problem.

Was told by my dealership to follow the recommended breaking in guidelines as per the manual, so far have done so, slowly but surely am getting closer to my 2k first service.

The M performance parts definitely make a difference on the AW, looks great.

I do believe here in WA no AW's have been delivered as yet.

Thanks mate. Has anyone been affected by the diff recall? The service manager at the dealer said my VIN was not on the list but i'm a bit worried as it seems as though that VIN list is growing and my build date falls directly within the affected date ranges.

What makes me more worried is that i've been hearing some extremely weird noises come from the rear of the car, normally under deceleration - couldn't even begin to explain what it sounds like but i've heard it at least 3 or 4 times now and my instant thoughts were 'what the f@k! was that!?''

Has anyone been experiencing this?
