Boycott Jimmy John's

Sad to say I've been eating there for years. Never again. Sorry if this is old news.

Are they franchises?

If so, are you punishing Jimmy John or the franchisee?

Their sandwiches used to be decent. Now I feel like they're usually not that great because they put a ton of mayo on their sandwiches, and less meat than before. I guess they're cutting costs so Jimmy can go on his live action Pokémon hunting.

I thought he was exposed for doing this a while ago, but the backlash kind of died down.

Nothing like pulling this much money out of a fragile economy to make them go back to poaching.

"When he does, he easily drops more than a quarter million dollars on a single trophy hunt."

Multiply that money by thousands to understand the impact on the locals.

While the knee jerk reaction is "Awwww dead animals"...having a viable market (I am NOT saying killing endangered species) for hunting will often fund conservation efforts far above what would occur without that hunting going on.

If you really are going to go off on hunting might I suggest you stop eating flesh of all forms? Otherwise you are just choosing what killing you approve of (MMMM STEAK) vs what you don't like and look like a hypocrite

I think I'll get a Big John today...

Thanks for posting. Fucking awful, and I boycott those who participate in this type of 'hunting' (or our Amurikun version, the 'predator hunts'). This is nothing like the hunting that most Americans participate in (even that is kind of sketchy, but it isn't usually a sadistic slaughter). Ric makes the real point though, unless we help them out to find another industry, they aren't going to starve to satisfy our effete morals.

But my understanding is that many of these countries have successfully leveraged peaceful tourism (where you don't kill the exotic animal you sought to find), and are making more off of it than they did from the hunting. I could be wrong, but I think there are a LOT more people wanting to use a camera. You hear about the douchebag richies with their quarter-mill trips, but much of that money goes right to the dodgy 'hunting companies', unlike typical tourism money. Kind of like how the millions spent on crack haven't upgraded the inner cities, but a grocery store and a gas station can.

You eat a lot of rhino do ya? If you think there is any parallel between eating meat and luring an endangered species out of a national park to kill it on private property you're an idiot. You can't eat rhinos, elephants, leopards, etc. They are harvested so rich men can put their heads on a plaque in their den. I can't believe anyone would even make that correlation to be honest.

Here's hoping that sandwich makes you shit yourself.

Hey, he didn't say he liked what the guy was doing. And for real, hunters have historically been one of the strongest environmental lobbies, at least in this country. I hope we can evolve as a species overall (don't eat much meat myself), but first thing is calling this stuff out as not really hunting, and finding viable financial alternatives for the locals before these species go extinct.

I was unaware that the CEO of McDonald's was luring unaware people into an open field with a Big Mac, then killing and stuffing them. What a travesty

It's called freedom of choice. Humans have it, animals do not. As the top species on this planet we have a responsibility to protect these endangered animals, not kill them for sport. Not sure how that's even debatable?

When I was 14-16 (1960ies) I thought that small game in NJ was a great way to spend a winters day in the field. As an adult 1970ies foward, now with 28 years Urban law enforcement background ,now married forty years with two children and four grand children, several dogs past and present I don't even like watching the natural violence on animal planet. People who kill for strictly sport can not appreciate how precocious life is. I understand and support killing off for the greater good and hunting when you or at least someone are going to consume your prey.
As far as eating had a great steak last night, eat chicken 5 / 6 times so no issue with mass murder for food.
I am not pissed at that guy nor do I eat his shity sandwiches, but what he is doing is horrific and I hope in his after life has has to pay the bill for what he is doing here and now.

although, that wouldn't be a bad idea for some people....

sadly, if there was a big mac in the middle of a field, someone would actually go out and get it.

They lure kids with sugar, salt, toys, ads...we're also responsible to protect our kids and you seem more worried about wild game.

That article from a libtard source is only 2.5 years old (2014)!!!

The lawsuit was settled in December 2016

"The settlement stipulates that Jimmy John's must notify all current and former employees that their non-compete agreements are unenforceable."
