Depends on the age of the driver. If it is a young chick then what goes through my mind is, "keep up with those facial treatments and keep that ass looking young and fit.. but most importantly, keep sucking that dick babe.. keep practicing and suck it like your life depends on it because if your skill level drops you will be going right back to a Hyundai."

My first thought is usually, "damn, I need to wash this thing." Pollen is awful this year.

My folks let loose a little more cause they genuinely like cars (Bimmers, Audis) but they still won't pull the trigger on anything above $70K.

However, the most recent H1-B crowd of the past decade loves their base model 320i and C300 leases. They give absolutely no shits about driving dynamics and are a prime example of the type of customer BMW is catering too.
Yeah Lexus and Acura are big among the south asian crowd for sure. Even within a single brand it's difficult for them splurge on something more than mid-level. A very common perception among the 1st gen asian (south/east/other) community is that there are significant diminishing returns on a vehicle after a certain point (probably somewhere between $50k and $70k MSRP).

It's not at all uncommon for 1st gen asians to look at a loaded brand new E class mercedes versus an S class mercedes and scoff at the thought of paying nearly double for the S class while getting back what they perceive to be maybe a 10-30% "improvement" in tangible assets.

The "prestige" factor alone of an S class will never entice them. If they're paying $100k for an S class over $60k for an E class there better be significant differences, and unfortunately (for Mercedes) that's just not the case. To them an S class is nothing more than a slightly elongated E class with very similar driving dynamics and very similar interior luxury features.

I just want you to re-read what you wrote. I'm going to helpfully bold a few words here, since the stuff in between the bolded parts is extraneous.

Spot on assessment. Come to think of it, I have really never seen Indian people drive any flagship sedans or SUVs. They won't go bigger than an E-class or GLE, Lexus RX, etc. And when it comes to performance cars? You better forget it. Not once was a brownie seen in the likes of a Boxster or ///M car. I'm probably the only brownie I know who finds a hobby in cars and wants to own something sporty, loud, and in a loud color like Yas Marina Blue or Speed Yellow.

The cheap and dorky stereotypes exist for a reason.

My real response:

Nearly every day I get to hear a benz. My neighbor has a GL63 AMG. Starts up in the garage and I get to hear that great exhaust note. Funny enough - the wife's car sounds better than the husband's M4. <3 their garage.

Second real response - I see too many benzes to really have a thought about them. Some I enjoy looking at, some I don't really care for.

Every time I go to Starbucks, there is a CL63AMG sitting out there. I get more jealous of the fact that he gets to drink Starbucks every morning, haha.

Regarding OP - my sister leases her benz. She also has like 0 financial worries in life. Not sure why you are trying to put people down who choose to lease.

I think the OP's implicit claim is "Financially mediocre people sometimes lease luxury cars" (Statement 1)

not

"If you lease a luxury car, you are financially mediocre" (Statement 2)

To assume statement 2 if the OP is claiming statement 1 is to make a converse error.

There are plenty of extremely well off people who lease vehicles.

TBH though I have no idea what the OP thinks. I'm mostly speculating based on his posting history in other topics. If he did imply statement 2, then I wholeheartedly disagree with him.

In the medical field you will see a few who rock the big boats - I often park next to an Audi A8 and some S classes, big merc/BMW/Volvo SUV's, and one in a Macan. About 50/50 youngsters (fellows/residents) vs. older drivers. Right now the Camaro seems to be official residency driving gear, for some reason.

When I read it from him, I picture him atop a hill of financial prosperity. On this hill of financial prosperity, he is saddled on a centaur. His hair is blowing in the wind as he looks down upon the peasants who must lease a car. (solely based on his prior posts - including the "post a selfie" thread)

I legit park next to an attending's CLS 63 AMG every day because it makes my 14 hour days less soul crushing knowing that I can maybe afford one in 40 years.
