Ah yes, congratulations on making a journalist's list. However I do pity a "car enthusiast" in the nation's most congested city.

Yup living in Toronto I can confirm the roads are congested and in awful shape. The roads outside the city are all straight country roads and very boring. It sucks to own a nice car here because there's nowhere enjoyable to drive it short of a track. I envy you Californians with your canyons BIGLY!!
I totally disagree. Guess you've never been out near the Niagara Escarpment or Caledon or a host of other places I can mention.
Be real. It should not require more than an hours drive just to reach decent driving roads. Anything else decent is few and far between. This isn't SoCal. Judging by your defensiveness when the Edmonton guy took a dig I think it's safe to say you've drank the Toronto Kool Aid like most everyone else in this self absorbed delusional town.

Then get out if you don't like the city. I've been to 63 countries and lived in 4 for quite an amount of time. What's so bad about Toronto? Please explain. Once again why is it always on top 10 lists of places to live? More than an hour to get to the Escarpment? Maybe by bicycle.

He's saying that it isn't quite a product of homologation (think 22B STI, Escort Cosworth, super hardcore), and isn't quite plush enough to meet his definition of "good daily."

Conversely, that's exactly where I want the car. mean/fun enough to take to the track or some twisties, but useful enough that I can still enjoy it daily during my commute. I don't get why people think they need to have "weekend car" and "daily car" when it's possible to have one that can handle both pretty well.

I mean, if you have gobs of money and can buy a nice soft 3/5 or A6 or whatever equivalent Mercedes for daily, and something even more "pointy" for weekend fun, I get that... but people who pick up something really sharp for weekends and then mope around the other 5 days of the week in some garbage Nissan/Toyota/etc... I don't get that. Spend your money more wisely and get something that's enjoyable and usable, like an M2.

Sounds like the OP wants the vaporware M2 GTS... I'm a bit too old for that now (I just turned 36), and I don't have the means or the space for two cars, so I compromise a little bit. (I compromised too much on "practical" with the TTRS; I want an M2 now because it has usable back seats, and because RWD / good weight balance.)

Crap, I'm 37... am I too old? Should I give up my M2 allocation and retire to the pastures of M3 or... (shudder)... Mercedes?

Heh, my point was just that I'm past the days of "i don't care how loud the exhaust is or how hard the car rides," especially since it's also my DD. I like a little bit of luxo with my performance... which is why I'm waiting for an M2 rather than buying a BRZ and modding the shit out of it.

Get these damn millenials off my lawn

M4 (equivalent specs to loaded M2) - C$92,000

That's nearly 45% more!
Here the M4 is maybe 50% more expensive than the M2.

Yes, but on the M2 you get 19" wheels and leather seats included. Add those and it's 44.6% difference. ;-) (if you accept dakota instead of merino)

In reality the difference is a bit more because the M4 have more options available. Adaptive suspension, HUD...

Yeah if you put it like that, then the m4 is quiet expensive!
Too bad you can't have the 513m's as standard, can't stand
the blavk 437m's.

I don't have it yet but once I get it (august delivery expected)
I will swap them 437s as quickly as I can!

My OEM Csl wheels should fit perfectly with 20mm spacers on all 4 corners, would
that be a bad idea? 19x8.5 et44 and 19x9.5 et27.
Bright silver looks insane on Lbb!

No minivan needed...I've got two carseats, well a booster and a carseat in the back and couldn't be happier. If I can convince the wife, we will be taking the whole family from Indiana to FL next week! Wish me luck.

You should have gotten the Mustang GT350. Sure the interior is the same as the one in the normal Mustang (duh), but that engine. Or just look for deals on a Corvette grand Sport.

Dam, I though Oregon was in Canada? Maybe Canada will buy NY? After the last person who works for a living leaves NY it will be less expensive.
