Is BMW Ultimate Care+ worth the money?

So for MY2017 and newer BMW wants you to buy Ultimare Care+ for $600 if you want the brakes, wiper blades and clutch to be covered for 3 yrs/36k miles. Is it even worth the money? Does anyone know if these items need to be replaced within 3 yrs/36k miles under normal use (no drifting, track use, etc.)?

For me the clutch doesn't even matter, as my M2 will have a DCT. I was just wondering if someone knew what the cost of replacing the brakes would be if I didn't get Ultimate Care+.

The way I approached this question was...Will I get service, e.g. have the mileage and wear, and is the discount worth prepaying?

For me the answer was no but I change my own brakes and rotors.

As for the clutch the DCT is not a TRQ converter aka automatic so yes you do have a clutch in fact two. If you trash the clutch in 36K you have bigger issues to worry about.

Not exactly the same but I'm turning in my 228i lease with the m-sport breaks in a couple weeks after 3 years. Never had the breaks changed. To give you an idea on how I drive I had front breaks on my Mini changed 2 times in the previous 3 years. I have an M2 manual on order and plan to pass on the Ultimate Care +.

Although if breaks are needing replacement within 3 years it would be a financially sound buy.

Thanks for the perspective. But I wonder how likely it is that I will "trash the clutch" without doing anything too crazy with car. I know these cars aren't known for their reliability.

I "thought" my E36M3 manual was approaching needing a new clutch at ~60K. I sold the car so I cannot confirm that a clutch was needed.

This was a car with a few BMW HPDE and multiple years of autocross.

I was always worried about the DCT in my E93. I think it may have had some improvements since 08, but it always made weird noises, and once or twice got stuck in gear and refused to change.

I find BMW service is expensive, I will probably get it.

It doesn't cover the clutch on the DCT. The reality is short of doing some serious track abuse nobody is going to burn through brakes or a clutch during the Ultimate Care Plus period. My brakes are projected to last over 100k based on the first 12,000 miles of driving.

I went through rotors on my M3, loved the warranty, but that was after some track time.

Ask your dealer the total expected costs of 3 years of regular service, including typical wear & tear items. If you never track, you may not need to spend the $600. It's like $2k if you want the 4 year-50k full maintenance package BMW formerly offered. Now that's a chunk, but, still cheaper than a brake job, with rotors.

I think the 2 series has been "reasonably" reliable..... Who knows on the M2.
