I really like the HVAC unit. Wish this was standard. Kind of sad that in a 'performance edition' model I only like the HVAC unit.

It's a beautiful car. I dunno what all the hoopla is about.

Strippers are always welcome; less is more.

So you still have keyless entry and the Start button?

What do you loose when you loose Comfort Access?

Do you loose Connected Drive features?

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/t...ss_system.html

BMW ConnectedDrive provides other useful services that complement comfort access: if you're not sure whether you've locked your car, you can use the special equipment Remote Services feature to check on your vehicle from wherever you are. Call the BMW Call Centre to check the status of your vehicle – and have it locked or unlocked, as needed.

An even more practical idea: the iPhone™ app My BMW Remote. Depending on the vehicle model and equipment, this app allows you to use various Remote Services and call up helpful vehicle information. For example, if you can't find your BMW in a car park, simply make the lights flash or sound the horn with the iPhone. You'll locate your vehicle and can unlock it immediately with your iPhone. Some BMW models also offer Remote Climate Control, so you can start your journey at an optimum temperature. The prerequisite for Remote Services is the special equipment ConnectedDrive Services.

It's too bad u just can't order a stripper. Nav delete, manual cloth seats, sunroof delete, non electric folding mirrors should all be options at ordering time.

I'd keep the Harmon Kardon Stereo

No that tip was not installed correctly. When I had my MPE installed one of my carbon tips slid right off. You have to tighten them with an allen wrench.

How do you like it? I just got an allocation for one but not sure if it's worth the extra money for parts I could add myself for the same price if not lower. I have an offer for 60k White M2 at one dealer, but this other one says this performance edition will be around 65k. Worth it?

For that reason alone.. plus M performance coilovers installed... as a track ready version.. these certainly have more kit than say... an E90 M3 Lime Rock Edition...

Except you are dead wrong about it coming stock with coilovers.

Look again at most of your fellow M2 owners. The majority of them have the following priorities..

" M mirrors"
CF trim like the F8x M3/M4
more luxurious interior like the F8x M3/M4
concerned about the ride being " too firm"
daily driver creature comforts like Apple Carplay

Just sayin.. you are one of the few purchasing the car for primary usage as a track day toy.

It's also exactly why this edition is perfect for you and why 90 percent of the people posting about your car will say it's a poor value in their mind.. and they all do so rather loudly..
Negative and positive opinions are both read with interest. In the end it doesnt influence what cars we do and dont buy. Glad it has drawn so much interest on the forum.

Didnt really pay attention to the HVAC, we're most interested in the suspension setup and 6-speed manual.

Keyless go works on the PE.

Tip is off about 1/8th inch. We'll adjust it when we get it on the hoist. There is a 10mm slot for minor adjustments.

If you are only using it as a daily driver on the street, I wouldn't bother with the PE. The M school is always fun and is included in the price. I'll send one of the guys who haven't had a chance to attend an M School. We have only driven it on the street for a handful of miles. seems to drive exactly like our regular M2 on the street (other than manual gearbox and performance exhaust sound).

Lap times at the track will tell all.

I'm getting this M2 as a second car for weekends and what not. Does the M package include airfare, lodging, etc? Do you think it's worth the extra money for accessories minus the luxury features?

In ANY car going back 20+ years the A/C comp, clutch disengages under load, some cars only WOT.

So whats diff about this car besides missing luxuries that steal almost nothing from the perf?

The Black grills and badges?

if you've looked this far and your observation skills have let you down ... there is no one here that will be able to spoon feed you an acceptable answer.
