For example, Autobild tested them too:
http://www.autobild.de/artikel/audi-...-11144331.html

M2 clearly wins, better steering, better brakes(vs ceramics on the TTRS which were malfunctioning on track), way better balance, way(way!) more playable, because TT RS( despite their high tech engineering on paper) still is noseheavy balanced....
M2 has faster irl gear accelleration, shorter braking distances. And has four seats and is a lot cheaper.

Without adjustable dampers...

So it's official that there is nothing official in car test/carjournalist land....

Cheers

Holy shit Robin, I simply said I quoted them from the source, as for the lap times, they are real, AND THE TT RS IS FASTER, GET OVER IT GOD DAMN!

I CLEARLY SPECIFY THE 3 DIFFERENT CUSTOMERS for each car, WHY ARE YOU STILL TALKING????

Lap times are THERE. The EVO shit was supplementary and secondary. GET. OVER. IT. FFS!

3 different cars, D I F F E R E N T. Read again my conclusion, which ia the correct one. READ AGAIN THE BOTTOM LINE.

^^^New meds? Or have you lost your old ones?

Here's the thing - you are on a BMW M2 board, and you are constantly ranting in a way that makes it hard to take you seriously.

I like the TT-RS as well - but there are definitely positives and negatives to the car, from an objective standpoint, just like the M2. Your subjective viewpoints being portrayed as fact is the annoying part. Playful banter is fine, and even fun - but you're on another level with the way you go about these comparisons.

You do realize there are tracks where the M2 is or would be faster, right?

If you adjusted your style a bit, you wouldn't need to respond the way you always seem to respond. And it takes away from the positive aspects of being on this board.

Just my $.02

Also, if you want, here are the advantages in simple bullet format for your understanding.

-Faster straight line speed 0-62mph in 3.5s.
-Faster lap times than the M2. ON ALL TRACKS MENTIONED.
-Lighter by 250-300 pounds (considerable).
-Faster shifts actually (on par with PDK).
-More comfortable (has adjustable suspension/magnetic is standard).
-Interiors are 2 levels above. Has the steering wheel of a supercar, the R8. Diamond quilted napa leather seats. Virtual cockpit. OIL TEMP GAUGE LOL and other performance figures. Better materials, Bang and Olufsen audio system.
-Sounds better. Hands down. Heck, they added a 5th cylinder just for the sound. M2 sounds muffled in comparison.
-Costs less to maintain.

I don't really care, I'm just researching!

It is hilarious however, to see how much one's sense of logic is distorted after buying/being a fan boy.

Let's not talk about "might". Facts are that the TT RS is faster round the tracks and is more luxurious.

We all know the advantages of an M2.

Choose whatever you want, I don't care, I don't work for Audi. My job is done.

Can anyone please explain the Quattro principle
and does the crashing TT RS in the video I posted have it or not? It probably doesn't have adjustable dampers either....

Who cares? So what if it's faster? It should be, it has more power and AWD. You act like this is shocking. If you like it so much you should buy it instead of wasting your time on this forum telling everyone that it's faster. I'm not sure if you're aware of this but there's lots of faster cars than a m2.

But it doesn't make sense to just say "faster" because that is not a specifically defined term, or at least it hasn't been in the context of this thread - does he mean 0-60? 40-80? 1/4 mile time? 1 mile time? Ring time?

Without any context, there's no way to tell what he's talking about. Which defeats the purpose of saying something is "faster".

Good point. I'm sure the TTRS is faster on all accounts above but at the end of the day who cares. I mean honestly are we all trying to be stop light champions? In fairness to the OP my above post was a bit of a rant as I'm a bit tired of hearing about us being horsepower heroes. We act as though we're winning serious boatloads of cash for being "faster". No wonder why there's so many electronic aids which dulls the experience. i.e. Launch control. Then we complain that the cars aren't fun anymore. Lol.

^this!!! It's more than what car is faster. It's the experience, the "fun" factor

I hear you there - I know my 981 isn't the "fastest" or "best" or whatever, but I like it, and it works for me right now. An M2 or TT-RS might work at some point too, but it will never be because I (or anyone else on this board) is earning my living by driving my car.

The 981 is sweet. Love the sound of the 6. You can tell right when you get into one the engineers at Porsche know what they're doing.
