Adding M2 to my garage

Was an avid BMW owner for many years progressing thru X1, X5, 135i and e90 M3 before losing interest and migrating over to Porsche. Current garage includes 991 GTS C4 cab, 991 GT3 and Macan Turbo.

Then along comes the M2 which really re-ignited my interest so I went for test drive this week and discovered a very sweet car. It's small, handles great, rides well, goes well and sounds good...plus it's cheap....so I ordered one. Delivery next March. Am looking forward to it joining my GT3 in the garage and on the track.

Nice! Did your dealer have one available to drive or did you find someone who owns one? Test drives seem hard to come by.

Over on the Rennlist GT3 forum, the M2 is generating quite a lot of interest. Around 10 of us have bought or ordered a M2. It seems it has really struck a cord with the GT3 community

M2 as daily fun, Z4M for sun fun and 997 GT3RS for track fun would be my perfect dream garage... 2 down...1 to go for me

Some pictures of my cars. I also have a current model black Mini Cooper S.

My M2 will be white with the Performance stripes but only down the side. Not on the front and rear. I think that's a bit too much but I do like the way the single side stripe accentuates the side crease.

I like all the stripes on the white. To me it's the only color it works with. You sure like white cars.

Bizarrely, you can't get a pure white in the Mini range. Only a creamy, off white so went for black with grey and white Union Jack trim. It's my wife's favourite car and it's surprisingly quick with 192hp.

My M2 will look something like this. I attempted to edit out the front and rear stripes with mixed success.

Love your car selection , I am planning on getting AW M2, have an AW BMW 335d and I was going to get a white Macan to replace the white Mercedes M-Class but the wife said enough white so I got a silver Macan S ... I should have gotten the white, it would have been faster

Almost forgot, the AW 335d replaced the white Mini Cooper S JCW but like you said, the Mini white is not really white.

This says a lot about the M2, when owners of one of the best sport cars in the world (GT3) have such an interest.

The big thing about the M2, is the smiles per dollar ratio. It may not have the M4s power or 718s handling prowess, but it does many things well, especially for its price point. And in the end, getting the most for your hard earned money is something everyone appreciates. The M2 is a great looking, aggressive car. Adequate power and tossable. Comes in a manual or one of the best autos on the market. Just enough cargo space and practicality. No wonder this is BMWs car of the moment. I have one coming soon (Jan/Feb?), so the following spring can't come soon enough.

The beauty is a car that is a third the price of the gt3! Makes it almost disposable! I'm going from an 11 turbo, unfortunately can't keep them both. There are some very fun choices these days for reasonable money.

I have a similar garage (though not as pretty) with a gt3 rs, gt4 and Range Rover..all different colors. The m2 is an interesting car that hopefully brings back the days of old m3s. Mine is week 51 production god knows when it will be delivered.

I'm also looking for a gts but they are so hard to find! Production numbers were pretty low..

Being a Porsche fan I looked at the 718 S but they were too expensive for what was essentially going to be an occasional alternate track car. As ryem3 stated, at its current price point, the M2 is almost disposable although I know that if I discover that I don't really like it, I can sell it without taking a big hit. They are holding their value much better than a 718.
