1. Why do you need a remote control valve option?
2. The car already have the sport mode that make the valve open already right?
3. If you opt. For the remote control valve, and you open the valve during comfort mode, will that decrease the car performance in anyway?

Some users don't want to have to go through the different car modes just to open their valves. The Akrapovic sound kit, in essence, is a convenience tool. It's also a pretty cool party trick to be able to open and close the valves from your mobile device.

When the M2 is in comfort mode power is not minimized from the car's engine (as far as I know). The Akrapovic exhaust would therefore not decrease the car's performance when in that mode - you'll just be losing the "quiet" aspect of comfort if you choose to leave them open.

Just to correct the reply a bit! The valve control is useless. I have a valve control system allowing me to open and close the valve accordingly.

If you open the valve in comfort mode nothing changes. The sound stays the same. The valve control can only be used to close the valve and minimize noise in sport and sport+ or in MDM mode (hidden exhaust mode).

I shared this information before on this section of the forum

How difficult is installation? I know this exhaust has 2 valves instead of 1 like the stock exhaust. Is it plug and play so to speak or are there any wiring or any modifications that had to be done?

It's actually quite easy. They send a sound controller with the exhaust. The stock valve connection plugs into the module and there's 2 new plugs that go to each valve. The module mounts in the left rear of the trunk and the wires are routed through the factory grommet. Installation took me about an hour all together and was very straight forward, especially with the provided install manual.

Exactly! Brilliant kit. I only need to fit the catless downpipe.

I have a problem with my akrapovic exhaust. The car is fitted with Dowbpipe with cat and evolution line system.
The problem is that the exhaust valve stays open all the time, changing sport mode of comfort did not close the valve.
The only time when the 2 flaps open and close is when I start the car in this sequence >(Close>open>close>the open) After that it stay open all the time. The control box has green light, no blink. Anyone know the problem here?

Thank you.

Hi MR, Could you please explain a little bit more about the valves behavior under 3 different mode with Akrapovic exhaust.(without installed the bluetooth control, which is useless and might have bluetooth interference problem) Thank you. Once enter the sport mode, the valves will open instantly, right?

The dyno graph can be seen here on the Akrapovic website - https://d1sfhav1wboke3.cloudfront.ne...716d98e4f9.pdf

Gains of +9.3 HP @ 6150 RPM // + 6.5 ft-lb @ 4300 RPM were recorded.

OP, question as I am looking at the same setup:
Does the Akra come with the heat shielding shown in the first set of photos, or was that additional, or stock?
