This is the face I make when I see a pot hole coming :
The stock M2 has stiffer suspension then my Z4M R with stock suspension and also with my modified Bilstein PSS-10 suspension... But the damping and overal balance is better with the M2. So the M2 suspension is stiffer but overal suspension feel is more comfortable then with the Z4M.

Is the Cayman the closest thing that's available (new) to a Z4M?

I did no external "downforce" mods on my Z4M; only AP brakes, Bilstein suspension, CSL wheels with Supersport tires, Vibratech engine mounts, Tuner Motorsport RTAB limiters. Great on street and track...even for a convertible/roadster

Not unless they've managed to jam a hydraulic steering rack in there.

Nice ! Yeah It's been a gradual process but has ended in a built motor with 540 hp at 8200 rpm , Motion control coilovers ( rear converted to a coilover with chasssis reinforcement ) a diffs online racing diff , all poly bushings , PFC 355mm bbk , with zionsville larger radiator and a 34 row setrab oil cooler to keep temps optimal on track with a half cage for safety . The full aero was the last step !

Wow! That is one dedicated track set-up 👍 My Z4M is not a decitated track car...it's something that is the best of both worlds (for my usage). Why pick a roadster to make such a track car? I love my roadster, but a coupe would be my choice for a track build like this....

Because it's what I found 6 years ago and the hard top was included , only coupe in my area was 10k more and in worse condition . Don't regret it one bit . I still drive it on the street too , it's fun all the time !

Well, other than the steering. Hydraulic steering is just about dead across the industry.

That is one hell of a mod list! Makes my car look and drive downright pedestrian.

I noticed SC tags on your car, where are you? I'm in Greenville.

Loving the hard top by the way, still have never seen one in person.

Unfortunately, that Turbo 4 has nothing on the S54. However, I think the 981's would be closer, although the GT4 is a completely different animal altogether.

I think for a fraction of the cost of what a 981 goes for, the E85/6 is a hell of a bargain

Thanks ! I am down in Charleston . As far as Caymans go I haven't seen a fast GT4 yet at Roebling anyway . I was literally > 4 seconds a lap faster on a what is a power neutralizing momentum track . 1:18 vs 1:22/23 Sport cup 2 or Trofeo R in my car vs Hoosiers on GT4 . As always driver > car but it seems out of the box and even after modding the suspension there is too much understeer in it .
