Interesting... Did you email them to inquire?
On Turner m0t0rsp0rt's website.. it doesn't show it's back ordered... wonder what's causing the delay

I ordered mine from Turner on 2/8 and it shipped on 2/21. I think it was drop shipped from UUC. Can't recall.
I had it installed by a friend's shop. It's a very hard install that requires detaching the driveshaft. I would not want to do it without a lift. |

I got mine last fall, before my car arrived, from UUC. Great mod. Especially good with an Ultimate Clutch Pedal installed as well, to further improve the whole shifting experience.
My shop did it, and also reported it was a somewhat difficult, but doable, install. |

Interestingly my order was for a "USSF87-1" UUC item number, but Turner shows they're selling the "USSF80" for the M2, while ECS Tuning lists the "USSE6" as the fit for the M2. Very confusing...

Taking delivery soon and have a quick question. I heard somewhere that the forward throws are shorter than downward ones. Is this true because that would drive me nuts?! If so will a short shift kit solve that?

I ordered the SSK. I'm having trouble locating the M performance shift knob without the boot. Any idea?

https://www.google.com/search?q=imag...ASUsAvC0odI8M: I've gotten used to it, and it looks good, but it feels pretty small in the hand, and I generally prefer a bigger, heavier knob. UUC sells some nice ones, too, and I bought one, but I can't use it, because I was not aware that you can't just pull off the cf knob and stick another one on there. My dealer sourced the cf kit it for me. Do you have a CA you work with? |

anyone have a remedy for this UUC issue?
I just had a shop install the UUC evo3 short shift kit in my M2. Now there seems to be an issue with the placement/position of the gear lever. Everything it angled too far forward. If you shift into 5th for example, the shift boot is stretching. If you're in 4th gear, it's where neutral was in the OEM unit. The new neutral position is there 3rd was on the stock one, etc. My thought was that they installed it backwards and need to turn it 180 degrees to remedy the issue. However once they double and tripped checked, it is installed properly according to them and rotating the unit 180 degrees will only result in it being even more forward. I had a UUC SSK in an F80 M3 a couple year back and it was just fine, so I'm wondering if I possible received a faulty unit or if this shop is either incompetent or bent something during install. We have also played with the height of the shifter without luck. Something is definitely off. It sounds like others have installed this in their m2 with good success. Thanks all!

You only replaced the shift lever (and it's related pivot hardware), not the connecting rod that comes off the bottom of the shift lever, right? There was a little confusion when I purchased mine a year ago if they offered one for that car, and they ended up telling me they didn't have a "The Double Shear Selector Rod (DSSR)" that fit the M2. Did you order and receive this item? http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/ultim...-m2-p1832.aspx If you want me to do any measurements from my unit let me know, like in a particular gear distance from shift knob to dash reference point, etc. Bill

That is precisely the kit I bought and installed, nothing else. I am wondering if I should take it to the dealership and see if they can fix it. The dealership installed my F80 kit a while back and it was great. |

Rob Levinson <rob@shortshifter.com> or calling: 678-679-5360 Rob was pretty good about responding to my emails, but that was 2+ years ago now when I purchased mine... ~gs2gf

If you don't get any satisfaction maybe consider a shifter from autosolutions, mine is being made at the moment. Communications I had with Ronald from there were very informative and I could only find very good reviews of his shifters. They are made to order, you elect the % reduction of throw (he'll give you some advice in that regard, I've gone with 25%) and the shift pivot point & height are identical to stock so you can use stock boot/shift knob (a video of the Rogue shows it forward of stock hence why the stock boot pulls up)

This is a mod I've got on my radar to do.
Looking to get the Burger SSK as it's only $150 http://www.burgertuning.com/short_sh...5_335_535.html What's odd, the "Download Install Guide" link on that page details UUC Evo3 SSK install. Anyone familiar with the Burger unit? Is it a clone of the UUC or actual UUC unit much cheaper than UUC? Or they just have wrong install guide posted? Edit: looks like from some other threads I found, the BMS SSK is made by Shifteck. I'll have to try and source proper instructions. Last edited by ddk632; 03-21-2019 at 05:36 AM.. |
