Suggestion for the CF trim on M perf steering wheel

Hello all. I am thinking to pick up the M performance steering wheel with the blue strip center. I understand the factory recommendation is to get the matte finish CF trim insert. Since the interior CF trim is open pore style, I am not sure if they will match well. Besides, I have all the OEM CF exterior pieces in wet finish which may look more consistent. Would you provide some input on whether to go with the matte or wet CF finish insert? Thank you in advance. Photos for both version would be helpful if anyone has that installed on your M2.

No brainer matte for me. Wet look is not consistent with the interior.

I have the matte trim going on to match the interior trim kit. It's a perfect match.

I have the M Performance wheel with blue 121o'clock strip fitted to the car with the wet gloss look interior trim looks great about to swap in the rest of the M Performance interior and plan on applying clear coat resin to the open pore trim.

Why does the factory recommend the CF centre piece? The OE part fits just as well, they are the same size and shape.

Go with the CF matte trim. It is an oem part. Matches with the interior.
I did mine yesterday!

Would be very interested to see the results. Not sure I'm interested in spending hundreds of dollars on wrapped trim.

You'll need to be a little patient, at least1 week or so. Very busy with work at present, already started on the open pore trim around the DCT shifter.

Door handles half done, I'm not wrapping using resin hence the long time scales.

Just got the steering wheel today. Thanks for the suggestion on ordering the matte finish. It is a perfect match with the OEM interior open pore CF trim. Can't wait to put it on.

Enjoy the photos. For everyone's reference, the matte CF trim is the same open pore style as the rest of the CF interior. Perfect match and even my wife loves it!

Can you post more detailed up close pics of the matte CF trim? I passed on it thinking it wouldn't match, can't tell if it's open pore from the pics but the comments are encouraging.

I'm also having my wheel insert painted MG to match car exterior. Would love to add the open pore CF trim carbon as well.

It is open pore CF indeed. Perfect match.

I did the cf trim on the stock wheel. It matches perfectly, and spiffs up the interior a bit.

I also installed the MPerformance shifter, which continues the open pore cf theme on the stick.

Debating about the performance wheel? What are people paying for the wheel and install. I'm waiting for a dealer quote

My local non BMW mechanic shop charged half hour of labor. Very decent.

How'd the wrap go? OEM trim is just too damn expensive. Especially compared to the wheel at $700, I find it hard to stomach paying nearly $300 for a piece of trim. I mean the damn factory spoiler is only $400!
