I haven’t seen any discussion yet about the new M Performamce lip on the M2 competition. I think it looks really good. Any chance that one will work on the standard M2? I’m afraid they have changed the contour of the front bumper on the competition just enough. I would love to hear from others who have access to that part.

It has already been stated by head of BMW ///M that it definitely will NOT work.

Isn't the RKP's new GP style front lip (w/o lower part) similar to M2C MP front lip?

Other than that, you could have a local race shop make you one custom. Most good race shops do composite work, by nature.

I personally would go this route, or the Lightweight lip, as I prefer a more "piece to complete the whole" vs statement piece. When it comes to bodywork/aero, I ALWAYS prefer a minimalist approach, more an OEM+, unless I'm building for functionality, in which case I view "form" a result of "function".
I'm actively looking for a car to build our aluminum lip on. Our goal is a $349 aluminum lip. If anyone has a car that is open to letting us use for R&D, hit me up. We are in Socal(Anaheim) and would need the car for about 3 different times. One time would be only for a day while we get measurements, second time would be for fitment checks (might need for 3 days) third time would be for final install.

It's similar but also much more aggressive. The RKP appears to hang down lower and protrude forward further. It looks good. But I think the M2C Mperformance part looks good while staying closer to the bumper. In my area we contend with all kinds of hazards that could easily damage an aggressive splitter.

I have the RKP splitter and it looks bulkier than the m2c. It also covers the whole bottom bumper. I'm also on MP coils at recommend settings and I have about an 1 1/2" to 2" of clearance in the front with the splitter

No, no flat roads. We get snow so roads are pretty crappy until they repave it. Then it's back to crappy again. I just took a chance it's not too bad.

I found the splitter that I want. It's a Perl from Germany. I saw it on a car and kept trolling the comments section until I found it. It appears to be exactly what I am looking for. But it looks like I need to order it direct from the manufacturer. I need someone who reads German to help me with the order form. .

good luck, I sent them an email but they have not responded. you cant even fill out the form because you cannot select USA as where to ship. Another member on here actually was successful in emailing them, and paying through paypal.

I speak zero German but managed to order the Perl side skirts. Somehow a couple of week later they arrived at my door so must have done something right. Google translate is the way forward, may take some time but stick with it

Just a little heads up on the Perl Carbon bits, well at least the side skirts I bought.

They looked to be fibreglass with a very thin layer of carbon laid over. Certainly not on the same level of quality that the Mode Carbon and PSM Dynamics stuff are that I have elsewhere on the car. They were a hell of a lot cheaper though so time will tell if this matters or not.

The two I liked most was the Perl first then followed by the Vorsteiner. I was leaning towards the less aggressive perl but fell into a deal on anew Vorsteiner knock off so I will try that first. Will install after my race FMIC gets here so I don't have to take it back off right away

WSU2M2 was successful in getting one shipped to Washington. Pricing seems reasonable at around $730 USD shipped. Link: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...options&page=2

I've been looking for an M2C M performance style lip for all the same reasons. The only similar option I've found that will fit an OG M2 bumper is a replica from China:

It's not 100% perfect but it's the closest thing I could find. Looks pretty good if you ask me:

This lip specifically appears to be from a "Light Performance". Here's their IG:

While I like how well it resembles the M2C M Perf front lip, I don't like how you can see the mounting hardware underneath the lip, closer to where the winglet-looking swoop begins.

Here's the IG post which led me to the company IG:
