M2 = Excellent road trip car

I won't bore you guys with the details, but I just wanted to say that I returned yesterday from a 4100+ km one-week road trip to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

We drove through gorgeous mountain roads, poorly maintained back roads, highways, coastal villages, sunshine, rain storms, and the M2 was comfortable, reliable, engaging and pure fun to drive the entire time.

So for those of you wondering whether the M2 is tolerable in long continuous doses, I want to say this: Put those worries aside, and take your M2 on that road trip you've been meaning to take.

You will have a blast, and the bond between you and your car will grow even stronger.

It's summertime (almost), so let's get out and enjoy these amazing cars!

Sounds like a great trip and I couldn't agree more.

We did 1,607 (2,586 km) in Germany, the Netherlands and Austria on our ED with the M2 and had a great time. No issues at all on any leg of the trip with comfort or enjoyment and I am 6'5 (1.95m) 200 lb (~91 kg).

Sounds like you had great fun. I have two trips planned this summer. One to Montana and one to central Oregon.

On your trip to Montana, you should take a scenic side trip to Wyoming:

Cape Breton is a scenic area. Did you do the Cabot Trail? Post up pics when you get some time.

Awesome!
I love driving the M2 on the highway almost as much as on B roads (acceleration and sound) so I imagine it'll be a great long distance athlete. Seats are also quite comfortable. Also putting together a road trip for this summer or fall.
Cheers.

I’ve just planned a 2000 mile road trip from the UK down to Switzerland for Sept. I’m taking my M2, and a friend is coming with a 340i (shortly about to get the MPPSK). Glad to hear you had a great time!

I have 6K km on my M2 LCI, 5K km plus done on mountain roads, that is to me the best field for baby M, I normally ride weekend days from 4 to 9 hours without being tired just enjoying how great is the car ...

Only downside is the puny gas tank.

In the past month, I put 4000 miles on my LCI, from Toronto to Deals Gap and back, from Toronto to Detroit and back, and then from Toronto to Philadelphia and back. I do agree with the puny gas tank, but the car is super comfortable for long trips, and most importantly, wife approved for said long trips.
