Just to update everybody with my review on the OEM rubber I ended up buying weeks ago - I regret it.

It fits well, feel so rigid and really is easy to clean - just everything already it's known for, BUT it's easier to get dirty, your shoes doesn't have to be wet to leave marks on that piece of rubber AND most importantly, it looks cheap even in its cleanest form. It feels far less luxurious compared to the original flannelette blue stitched one.

I am selling rubber mats and buying MP ones instead. I have to clean them once a week anyway.

Original Post on Aug 30, 2016:

Want to have a few parts ready before my LBB m2 arrives, so the floor mats.

Came cross OEM rubber ones (for F22) and saw a picture from a member here showing it fits m2 no problem as below. The picture also shows a better "fit" to my eye than nearly every m performance mat I have seen, except that the all black rubber does look a little bit dull to me.

BMW offer black (base line), black+beige/oyster(modern line), and black+red(sport line). I wish BMW offer black+blue as my m2 is in LBB, which they didn't yet.

So, which color do you guys think best fit? I'll pair it with mp stainless steel pedal.

This is the getbmwparts purchase link to the 3 color options.

For lack of blue to match the rest of the car, I ordered black.

Thanks for the input. That's what I reckoned.

Anyone share experience with the red or oyster one? I've been thinking the oyster one probably will do great, but never get to see any real pictures.

Hey that's my photo! haha

The mats only came in black when I ordered, but the fit is very very very good. The only mats that would fit better than this are WeatherTech's.

EDIT: should note my rubber mats also have the velcro attachment and holy shit is it ever difficult to pull off, so no need to worry about it sliding about.

I have black and the GF has red in her 3 series (red w black leather). I'd stick with the black if I were you.

Aren't the OEM mats made by WeatherTech?

I'll wait the car to come, get in it and see what i feel like to buy those " expensive mats or not!!!! The stitches are darker than the ice blue on the Dakota leather!!!!

I guess that the interior would be quieter with this, maybe not a good point for exhaust sound fans ?

The "liners" probably are and probably fit but WeatherTech will not confirm.

The ones shown maybe maybe not. What I can tell you is the ones shown do fit and they have a small lip which I think will help keep the crap on mat instead flowing over the edges like the rubber ones in my X5. That said, as long as the X5 keeps running I doubt that the M2 will see much bad weather

I've installed a set of weathertech's in the M2 - it's one of the first jobs I did upon collection.

I ordered for an F22 variant (couldn't find F87 info), of course I was 99% sure it would be fine.

As mentioned the high walls/lip help keep all the crap from your shoes in one place. Cleaning is effortless, I highly recommend them.

Why don't I see the ///M dead pedal peaking above the liner?

I like the weathertechs, just not fond of how much of the dead pedal it covers. If you have the stainless steel pedal set installed it would look a bit awkward.

As others have mentioned:

1. WeatherTech doesn't offer mats specifically for the F87 Correction: F87 FloorLiner mats now available as of mid-September
2. The F87 uses a ginormous Velcro disc to secure the stock mats in place

I ordered a set of all-weather mats (rubber) from WeatherTech marketed specifically for the F22 X-Drive only. The fit is great, and they look just ok. However, it is not possible to use either of the two mat retention features offered by WeatherTech, and there is obviously no giant disc of Velcro on the bottom of the WeatherTech mats. Considering the current regulatory and litigation-happy environment around unintended acceleration incidents, and the possible contribution of a loose floor mat interfering with the foot controls, I believe THIS is the reason why WeatherTech won't tell customers that the F22 mats will fit just fine.

I don't like my mats moving around on the floor, and so far I haven't had an issue with the WeatherTech mats. But I might also consider the BMW all-weather mat solution.

One feature I do like about the WeatherTech "floor liners" is that they DO cover more of the dead pedal. The less melted ice/salt slurry that drips down and saturates the base of that pedal, the better!

I don't have the optional metal dead pedal installed - these mats are based on stock pedals I guess.

Yes, I encountered this issue too. Weathertech forgot to send me the retention kit... from what I know, it's a case of removing the velcro discs (rotate them 90*) and inserting the retention hooks?

Anyway, I couldn't be bothered to wait, so I stuck on some industrial velcro beneath...:

I had to take my time and compare the velcro are against the stock mats to make sure the area was properly covered. The mats stay firmly in place - I agree, no way could I put up with "moving" mats.

Optional? The metal dead pedal was standard. At least in my car it was

My only issue with Weathertech products is their insistence on putting their name so highly visibly on everything they make. They make an awesome billet aluminum license plate frame that is anodized black, it is exactly what I want but is has their name engraved on it. That is really weird to me. I sent them an email expressing my frustration that a product like that is being made with their name etched in it. They responded politely but told me that is what they do.
