I have an MG coming in a month and really hope it gets no attention. I bought this for me not others. I have an M3 in a flashy color and I can't stand the attention from cops and twenty something punks that have something to prove. I don't mind some attention from real enthusiasts but I really want to be under the radar.

Ah, I remember when I was dreaming of my first car...

One of the most important things was finding something affordable with a 160+ mph speedometer!

I had a Porsche Cayenne creep up on me this morning as I was driving to work. He and I went back and forth for a little bit until I got bored and pulled away.

Three days, and three encounters. First one was at the dealer where 2 girls came up asking if it was my M2, granted my CA was taking it away for a quick check. They chased the car all the way back to the service center. 2nd encounter was the same night by an elderly couple, Mid-60s, waited till we got out of the car and chatted away for the next 30 minutes on how cool the M2 looks, and sounds. And lastly, at the dealer a guy approached me asking for my permission to see the car. He asked how I got it, and I pointed to the CA and a year and a half long wait. He mentioned that he drives a GT4 and is looking for an M2 as a DD but can't find it anywhere.

Yes, Mineral Grey gets a ton of attention too.

Had a cop follow me for about 1/4 mile on my way to work this morning. After I changed lanes to make my turn he rolled up next to me, put his passenger window down, and yelled over at me, "Nice car!" That was fun.

Long Beach Grand Prix attendees were around last week. Heading home, an Audi R8 pulled aside my car, looking at my M2. Earlier in the day... a 135 owner did a double take when he was doing a u turn. The next light, 4 pedestrians were gawking, walking by my car. The next stop light, a Dodge Challenger passenger lowered his sunglasses, checking out my car. Later in the eve... putting bags in my trunk, I saw a camera flash bounce and turned around. A father/son were taking pics of my car of my M2. They were excited, lots of questions.

I'm fairly oblivious to anything other than pedestrians, traffic and cops but this was a record amount of attention in the course of a day.

OK...I was at the Grand Prix over the weekend. Not a single glance from anyone...hm....

Lots of attention in the LBB, but I don't mind. I've driven white, black or gray cars for the past twenty years so I wanted a change. People spark up conversations at gas stations, lots of thumbs up and honks while randomly driving on the road from various cars. I had someone take video of my car in a parking lot while I was watching from inside a restaurant and video of me driving by a car club pulled over on the side of the road. Plenty of thumbs up from other M owners on the road as well.

I've only seen two other M2's on the road in the six months I've owned the car.

Yeah, good luck with that. I thought the same thing about MG. People gather around the car all the time, point at it, i get random people shouting at me at stop lights, cars ricer passing me on the highway, people revving at lights, you get the point.
