Worth it to keep factory exhaust on a F87 M2 after replacing w/ Dinan?

Just bought a 2021 M2C and original owner upgraded to a Dinan exhaust and kept the original. It's inconvenient for me to keep the original exhaust as I am flying to LA from Fresno to pick up the car and I would have to bring it home in my trunk and I want to hit Angeles crest on my way home and don't really want a 50 pound exhaust sliding around in the rear seat the whole way.

I am thinking of tossing it. Any reason why I would want it? I can't imagine a future owner wanting that monstrosity.

I would only keep it if you are thinking of removing the Dinan exhaust and selling it at some time in the future.

I had considered that, in fact I just sold a GT4 and took off the aftermarket exhaust and sold it privately before I sold the car...but that was a $6k exhaust and it made sense to spend a few bucks to swap it out. Not sure it would be worth my time with the Dinan. Good point though.

Is there anyone in this thread that wants the stock exhaust? I'll sell mine.

I often times will trade in a car I modify because I hate dealing with the issues of a private sale. On a trade in the dealers always cut the value of modified cars saying they don't sell as well. I keep the stock parts and swap them back in to keep car stock like, and then sell aftermarket for a profit, and get full trade in value…. I would say it's worth keeping it

Dinan is a great brand, I'm sure you can resell it easily in the future. That being said, I would keep the stock exhaust.

Let’s be honest here. It is really a function of how long you are going to own your M2C.

A five plus year old Dinan exhaust is probably pretty worthless on the used market. So if you plan on keeping your M2C for a long time I would toss the stock exhaust. If you plan to sell your M2C in the next one to two years I would keep it.

You can always sell it at some point

Just keep it in a dry place like the basement or Attic

Or powder coat it Black and put it back on and sell that Dinan
