Wow cool!

Still waiting for the Cayman R to come out. Or would be better if Porsche made a Cayman GT3.

how sure are you on that "bmw isn't giving them special treatment"?
Are you working in hand with bmw to decipher what and who they're dealing with and how so? I man hey Dinan "spent $1 million cracking and tuning to whom? a question you and or I know!

factual speaking

I also would love to see that the "T0" change is myself!

Judging from early renders, I can already tell this thing with the wider rear fender arches will be one beautiful looking mini-beast...

Didn't the 1M compare pretty well to the Cayman R in a few comparos?

smart decision not to detune a s55, it would steal way too many customers.

I understand the ECU argument - but we can also tell by the number of cars tuned that have N54s vs. N55s that there is a higher ceiling that is more easily achievable with the N54...at least that's the impression I have gotten from the board.

I am clearly not an expert - just commenting on what the general tone has been on the threads I have read.
pump gas, e85, downpipe, and intake! but again that power is about your statement correct?

Im no expert myself. I like your style and respect we can have a nice debate here. thank you man, gotta love my BMW community

It won't cannibalize the M3/M4 because by the time it arrives on the market.

Both will be around two years old and heading for the next progressive step.

If anything timing is perfect.

But yes it will be less localised than before meaning it will not be limited , will be offered in two transmissions , Optional M Accessories and a Cabrio model.

It will arrive in BMWs Centenary year 2016. A year that be celebrated in Many ways possible with the highlight being the G30 5er.

The only tuner BMW has a special relationship with and is heavily involved in development and engineering is Alpina and Alpina only.

Yes, sir - but my recollection was that there were significant concerns about making that power, in terms of long term reliability - again, I could be nuts.

And right back at ya - overall, I am glad that we know for sure this baby is coming - if at all possible, it will be my next car - and I am happy to learn from my fellow forum members if I am wrong!

It did, but they're two entirely different style of cars, the Cayman is superior in handling for sure, but the 1m is a funner more rowdy experience.

with that being said, they have some sort of trust in them. their is only two tuners you can go into bmw with with no issues Alpina and Dinan!
As with Nissan and Stillen!

The intentional omission of the M DCT and standard differential on the M235i make perfect sense now.
