Unless BMW released allocations this week, dealers did not know last week. I bet their "3" is a guess but I'll call the GM of my dealer tomorrow and confirm.

What's the benefit of getting the $600 smartphone connectivity package? Can you still stream music without it?

From what I have been told is that your car becomes an extension of your smart phone: ie you can see your messages, you can go on the web, etc...

Additionally, you could connect 2 phones at the same time with your car.

Since I am purchasing the car for a long time, I am considering this option. If I was not, it does not bring anything "car related".

I placed my order a couple weeks ago. I asked for the m exhaust and was told the option wasn't available.

It will be and BMW has indicated they anticipate it will be available by retail launch. The issue is simply the dealer can't option it but they will likely be able to get it.

I just got a call from my dealership. Order is ready to be sent to bmw. First time buying a new car - was shocked at the following charges:

Freight & PDI - $2,995
Admin Fee - $395
Lease/Finance Fee - $300
Air Excise Tax - $100
Tire Levy - $20

Total pre tax = 65,705

Anyone else paying all the above? Fees and charges seem kinda high to me

Ill have to contact my dealer Monday to see if there is any new info. I think all of that is pretty standard, could probably knock some of those fees off? Are you first in line at your dealer?

Thanks for checking. I told him I'd get back to him on Tuesday.

Oddly enough I'm seventh on the list. They are confident I'll get a February/March production run and delivery by May/June. They also don't think it will be limited on production but rather produced upon request with a two to three month wait till delivery

Wow! Going to see my order on Monday as well. Will keep you posted on what are the fees in Quebec and if I was able to get some of those fees removed.

Unfortunately they are likely wrong... it may not be "limited production" but they can only build so many at a time and it is likely that there will be constraints and real difficulty getting cars the first year as they supply dealers around the world. The plant building the M2 is not as high of a production facility as some of the other locations BMW builds cars.

If you are 7th on their list and they are telling you May/June, I think they are being VERY optimistic. I bet even high volume dealerships will not get their 7th M2 until late summer or even possibly later in the year. I hope I'm wrong but, unfortunately, I bet I'm not.
