I don’t know why I said 2, it’s also been 4 almost 5 months. Distracted by N55 M2 compilations on YouTube

Put on some winter tires! Driving the car with a bit of snow all over the place is more than half the fun!

I drive my OG year round in Denver. She’s still fun on winter tires….and, frankly, I consider winter to be drifting season

From my experience, BMWs are prepared for winters really well (after all they are made for German winters with a lot of salt). Especially compared to American cars.

You just need a milder climate like Seattle.

Both the OG M2 and GT4 are great cars and complement one another well. I would agree that someone looking to progress from an M2 should definitely consider a Cayman if a two seater would work for them. There is a wide variety of models available to suit your budget and needs from $25,000 to $250,000.

My wife's DD is the M2. The GT4 is mine.

The only car that piques my interest for the same price range and useability as an M2 is the FL5 Civic Type R. If you are looking to move up in the car, another BMW M car would be good. Acura Integra Type S is an excellent, really sharp car. Moving to Porsche GT... it may be a letdown to move from a torquey DI turbo motor to a high-revving N/A motor for street use. I'd also keep an eye on Porsche with a turbo motor, although Chris Harris loves his daily use of GT3 Touring! I had a Cayman S with the flat 6, and it was somewhat dull on the street unless you were wringing it out. A final thought: having back seats, especially if you have kids, is nice because you can involve them in your car hobby more easily.

Agree with a lot here and that final thought is downright critical to me. My older daughter loves cars and I want to encourage that anyway I can. I could never see myself going to a car event and she asks if her and her baby sister can go and I have to say 'no' because there isn't space. And when it comes to that I look for maximum thrill at lowest speed because I'm not hitting at corner at 75mph. This is where I think 911s are key, they fit kids in the back and provide greater engagement to driver. Frankly NA ones (non GT) are slower than my M2, yet she calls the 911 "racecar" and the M2 is just "blue car". We can be going 45mph in a curve in the 911 and it feels like 100mph. I'm having fun because of driver input and lines, daughter feels like she's on a racetrack and leads to lots of awesome moments.
