2016 M2 Incoming ~~~ Which Warranty Program?

Just purchased a used 2016 M2 6-spd in long beach blue with 32k miles. Have an appointment at a BMW dealer for an overall checkup this Saturday.

Any particular issues I should be aware of?

Also, any recommendations for an aftermarket warranty program? Thanks in advance!

The N55B30TO and the F87 are reliable enough you’re better off being your own warranty. Just set aside some cash each month if you’re not liquid for it and when the time comes you’ll be ready.

I heard that N55 is quite reliable. Setting aside cash for repairs is always a good idea. Still, like to know if anyone who has benefitted with a 3rd party extended warranty. Thanks for the reply.

I was about to buy a 2020 M2C when the PPI discovered mice were living in the engine bay as the car was not driven for over a year.

I never buy an extended warranty on any car. Usually a bad investment.

Best advice here, also given the car is out of factory warranty many third party ones greatly limit coverage, if they even offer it. The best out there are Fidelity and Route66 if you can get it.

Also, only go for exclusionary coverage warranty if any.

Another pro tip:

Search google with ‘f87 m2 ______’ and you’ll find threads on this forum on any topic you could ever want to know about.

There are more than half a dozen threads on this topic returned using this method.

It's been about 55 days since I bought my 2016 M2 from CARVANA.

Thus far, the Charge Pipe failed and the Horn doesn't work properly. Fortunately, I took advantage of CARVANA's 100-day warranty, and got both repaired from a BMW dealer with a $50 deductible each time. The total cost for both came out to about $2,000 (parts, labor and diagnostics)!

Hopefully, anything that might fail will happen the next 50 days!

there is no way a charge pipe and a horn are $2k anywhere other than at the dealer.... I would suggest finding an indy if you are unable to do basic things, otherwise you'll have a bad time. Oh, and an upgraded charge pipe is only a few hundred, since the stock one will fail shortly anyway.

I’ll find a non-dealer shop once the warranty runs out, for sure!
