Will M2 CS meet your expectations ?

Well we know a little about this car and the launch is due shortly

So who is feeling confident it will meet or exceed their expectations and who thinks it will be a bit of an anti climax

Work on the basis the M2CSL will come right at the end of 2er production cycle

So the CS will be a step up from the base M2 with c405bhp but it is unlikely to be a stripped out CSL lightweight

Price increase of c 15%

Will it meet my expectations, no.
Will I buy one, yes.
Why, because I will not be invited to buy a CSL if I do not.

Optimistic, but doubtful. I will enjoy my current base M2 and wait for the CSL. For those who don't already own one then a CS at a 15% premium should be worth it. Hopeful that owning a CS first won't become a prerequisite to obtaining a CSL?

Is the 15% price increase from a credible source or just a guess?

Hmmm. Good question and I don't honestly know.

I was disappointed by the M2. Although I had limited time with one.

As others have already said, I believe the M2 has been deliberately shackled and tamed to make room for further progress.

So it could be the M2 CS is just what I'm looking for although I think I'd settle for an M2 Competition Pack.

I do not expect it to deliver the one thing I want the most and that is Adaptive M Suspension.

Biggest question though is do I qualify for one?

Sorta....but have a feeling they won't fix the god-awful exhaust sound.
Would it be sacrilegious to mod the CS? I would most likely try to (un)detune the detuned S55 back to 450 hp.

It’s not really going to disappoint when we already know the engine spec? No real surprises.

Might want to add a "do you think" in front of the subject line- because I'm at a loss as to how any of us would know the answer to this question with the car not being out yet.

I am done with Less is More! Let’s get rear seats out and ask more money theory!

BMW M thinks that upping turbo pressure and putting some other wheels and seats and some carbon bits that they can ask an idiot price for it.

I have an M2 LCI thank you very much!

No source, let alone a credible one. A 15% increase means the CS will be ~$62,000 USD. Read that out loud while trying not to laugh.

The S55 is the biggest selling point for most buyers, I have to assume. Therefore, with the ever so slim chance I'll be getting a CS, I'd mod the shit out of that powerplant. The S55 has tons of headroom capable of making the M2 CS an M6-like road missile. But yes, we're still stuck with the sub-par sounds.

I believe it's the cs that's limited to 1000 worldwide.

If it comes in manual it will meet my expectations.

All this M2 CS talk lately with the 'limited' 1000 number talk really got me nervous as I have 3 deposits down on the CS. Two deposits are number 1 spots in writing with msrp in pricing.

If you want to know what it will sell for, look at the performance metrics of the competition.

If the CS has an S55 and a 6MT, I will definitely buy one. Otherwise, an LCI M2 will be great.

I was a bit disappointed with the M4CS pricing. All the features were nice but it looked nothing worthy of adding 50% onto the base price.

I'm sure I will like the M2CS, why not it will be an enhancement on the M2 but if it's 50% more..... hahahahaha!! No chance.

Many don't think it will go that way so really it's all still a hypothetical discussion until the cars details, specs and costs are released.

I'm already a little down on the colour. Was hoping for a red or fire orange. So the standard 4 plus a silver, doesn't really meet my expectations. That's fine however, I'm happy in my standard and retracted my first in queue deposit.

I'm certain all those inline will be delighted, it's going to be a cracking car.

I don't know that it will meet my 'brief' if that's what the question really is. For me the M2's point is it's mix of value, amenity and performance. It's a bit chubby I suppose and its outright ability is further limited by its height, rear cabin and boot space. A CS can only answer those concerns to a limited degree so I think I'm likely to enjoy the flexibility of my current car and look at Lotus or Porsche if I can fit something more compromisesd into my life.

Why would one buy a CS next year when in just a couple more years, the "base" M2 will be using carbon fiber in its frame and will be using a superior engine.

After hearing from my dealer that there may be a mark-up (a first from them), I've decided that if my loyalty since 1999 is superceded by their greed, I will buy it and flip it regardless of how well it meets my expectations.

Are you asking if I expect it will be what I'm expecting it to be?

The answer is yes.
