Will the iPhone 8 and X fit in the center console charger?

My 6S+ definitely doesn't fit, but looks like the 8 and the X are about the same physical size and both will support wireless charging, so I'm quite tempted to upgrade if it fits.

X: 143.6mm by 70.9mm (5.65" by 2.79")
8: 138.4mm by 67.3mm (5.45" by 2.65")

8+: 158.4mm by 78.1mm (6.24" by 3.07")

I hope they do as that's my plan to grab the X.

The regular sized 8 and the new X should fit according to all BMW documentation.

Really looking forward to the X’s wireless charging and wireless CarPlay combined.

I didn't realize the 8+ was bigger than the X. I assumed they were the same size for some reason.

X is the same size as the regular 8 but has more screen real estate than the 8+ (5.8" vs 5.5")

They are for next year, it's in the product line. They just couldn't get enough OLED displays in time. It's supposed to be around 6.6" display size or so.

iPhone X is not the same size as the 8, it's in between the 8 and 8+, but will fit in the cradle!

I don't know if I would say "in between". It is technically bigger than the 8 but it is pretty darn close to the same size.

I don't know if I would say "technically bigger". It's in between the 2 sizes, though just slightly bigger than the 8.

X has a larger screen but smaller than 6-8+. I wish you could permanently disable the stupid face unlock feature. I want the larger OLED screen in a smaller form factor but the face scan is stupid so I'll probably go 8+ to replace my 6+

IMHO there's no need for an X+. We can finally have a + sized resolution in a non+ form factor.

Haven't heard that rumor

My guess is that OLED is a temporary stop gap until the micro LED is ready for prime time.

This talks about wearable but guessing that's only till they can scale it up?

If you notice Apple is slowly replacing generic components with highly specialized internal designs. It's just a matter of time before Qualcomm follows the path of Blackberry if they don't get their chips in more devices to offset a future loss of Apple devices.

You might want to get use to it. Rumors saying it's replacing Touch ID.

Takes all of 20 seconds to completely disable TouchID and set it to use your passcode instead.

Why would FaceID be any different? It won't.

Yes. The 7plus and the 8plus do not.

If you want the screen size of the plus models but something that will fit in the cradle you need the X
