Its the darkness that puts me off it.

Sakhir is a more consistent colour in variable lighting but to my eye always looks orange. This would have been my preference and it's an M specific colour too (for the moment). My personal preference below:

Light
VO>SOII>SO

Dark
SOII>VO>SO

Got it--thanks. In that case, I would have preferred something more along the lines of Sakhir orange as well.

But what's most disappointing, as a fan of almost all shades of blue and as another person mentioned above, is that they didn't roll out a unique shade of blue--something darker-- for this car.

I'll be very curious to see what the Hochenheim silver looks like, and I'm willing to bet the lines on the car will look the best in said color.

I find all silvers boring and hate lbb. To me it's a fad color and will fade in like 2 years and be old. A dark blue would be a home run. Oh well BSM it is.

Not sure where you got those figures - according to the stats compiled by SickFinga for the '16 & '17 M2 model years, MG was significantly higher, AW was much lower, & BSM was at the bottom:

42.9% LBB
22.0% AW
17.9% MG
17.3% BSM

how about a deeper blue to set it apart from an M2?
i love LBB 90% of the time, until it gets that certain teal/aquamarine color to it in certain times of day/lighting conditions. I dont want to hate the color of my car 10% of the time.
i havnt ordered yet but am not super excited about the colors assumingly being offered. I've got a paint guy that has some fun ideas for a custom CS paint.

They came out of my arse ... .. I believe I did say roughly and they are sufficient enough for ranking 1-4 which was my purpose. At the very least, my ranking is supported by your data as well with the exception of a .6% deficit for BSM vs MG.

PS.. your numbers came out to 100.1 % :

I'm happy to see that the MG and BSM are both strong and individually nearly as much as white.


It's my understanding that the Leipzig plant has a 24 color crayola box - er..... palette. MG and BSM are fairly close. Black, is certainly not going to yet the ax in that factory. Nor would white , for that matter ... and LBB is the launch color .... So... silver replaced gray. At this point it appears silver overwhelmingly is more popular than gray , even though it wasn't included in the poll.

I was once told from different directions that the M2 CS to the M2 is what the E46 M3 CS was to the E46 M3.

Therefore the Silver color choice seems to be an interesting choice, since the E46 M3 CS was released in silver, as far as I am aware.



Only question is if they would do the same type of silver or go darker or lighter....

I choose Orange, lovely color. Add minor silver touches like 666M wheels, next to some darker highlights and it looks wonderful.

You did say "roughly", which is why I didn't point out that you were < 3% off on LBB & BSM; however, you were a significant 7.9% off on MG and a whopping 13% off on AW, the former of which caused you to inaccurately rank its place in the list (thereby making the figures from out of your "arse" insufficient for an accurate ranking). As such, "my" ranking - which as I mentioned was actually compiled by SickFinga - actually does not support your ranking as in fact your ranking was 50% inaccurate (only LBB and AW occupied the correct slots in your ranking - 2 out of 4 current M2 colors); furthermore, your misplaced rankings caused you to draw an inaccurate conclusion in which you stated "clearly the color at the bottom of the heap got the ax."

I've owned two diamantschwartz E30 M3, and an E82 1M and E84 X1 m sport in BSM.

BSM is basically an update of DS.
