Now, this pollution tax that Corrine talks about sounds insanely high. That may throw me the other way. Is this just France btw? |

Manual transmission M2 199g/KM of C02 = 10,000 EUR extra to pay This may seem like peanuts to some of the super rich here but I bought my F80 after working bloody hard for it and it's already a 100,000 EUR car so 10,000 extra killed the manual transmission for me |

And the “good” news is that next year the French government is increasing it to € 10,500 !
They do it because the French donˋt actually produce any interesting cars so itˋs a form of protectionism.

I've read though most of the last 7 pages of comments. For those of you that don't want to - I've summarized for you below:
Page 1: has some reflection on what the production numbers mean and some patting on the back to the OP for providing this info (thanks, OP!). This is to be expected, as this is a post about M2 production numbers. Page 2-7: Mostly posts about someone's grandma and 6MT vs DCT debate (oddly, these are not mutually exclusive posts). These posts are also to be expected though, as this is the Bimmerpost forums, and not providing an option about transmissions on every thread would be unheard of. |
