Universal Integrated Remote Control - Losing Presets

Hey all,

Is anyone else experiencing the garage opener buttons losing their settings?

I am able to set the buttons properly, but the next time I get home, they don't open the garage.

I reset and then add them again, but after an hour or something it doesn't work. Pretty annoying.

Garage door opener technology needs to take a huge step forward, at least in terms of how the transmitter works.

Are you hitting the learn button on the garage open itself also?

I press and hold the (old) garage door opener button and press and hold the electronic one until it flashes quickly.

I think your garage opener has rolling codes, there is a different procedure for programing.

Ah you know what you're probably right. I forgot I had changed the motor a year or two ago. Thanks!

Yeah, on the rolling code openers, which is basically anything made in the last 10 years or so, the programming is two steps. First you hold the remote by the car and the car figures out the correct frequency and pulse rate / etc.

Then you have to go to the opener (or the wall mount button/control panel on the newest units) and use the learn button for the opener to pick up the car as a new rolling code entry.

There are only so many rolling codes. Sometimes, you need to reset whole system for them to stick on new devices.
