Seen some folks getting bumped up from their initial build dates. Was wondering if anyone from week 38 got bumped up?

Finally was able to get myself an allocation with the help of a member here! Week 38 as well. What's the best way to check on updates for the build?

My build:

Alpine White
Executive Package
Apple Carplay

Week 37 folks are starting to get some action with their orders. Also, MyBMW finally allows me to use production order# to update my vehicles. Still 111 status of course saying

"We are currently processing your order and will inform you once your BMW enters production. "

Just thought I'd post this here for other week 38s to check. My car went status 150 yesterday and is supposed to finish production by the 9/11. A little early than scheduled.

Nice!

Looks like I'm still scheduled for week 38. Called Genius but nothing really new. Will start production either at the end of this week or early next week.

Same here - just called Special Sales & I got moved back from week 37 to 38 for ED the same week as you, 10/5. Our cars should start production sometime next week, at which point we'll get VINs.

Yeah, that would mean you're bumped up to week 37.

Frustrating, because I've been week 37 all along, and mine is supposed to complete on 9/13. How the heck does someone who was originally scheduled to be after me suddenly get pushed ahead?

Don't feel bad - I had somebody whose week 34 car was production complete AFTER my week 33 get on a boat at least a week ahead of mine. How it managed to get from Munich to Bremerhaven ahead of mine I can't explain. Their's has been on a boat now for over a week, and AFAIK mine is still(!) at port. . Actually, I have hopes it got on a boat yesterday - but I have no confirmation of that yet.

Sometimes I think all of this week "bumping" could be a result of Genius being very inconsistent in what they tell you on the phone. They continue to say that the build week is the week the car starts production - which we all know is wrong.

My original ED was scheduled for 10/2, 4, 6. Last week, I learned that my CA left the dealer and was assigned a new CA, who informed me that I was now week 40 and asked for new dates -- I requested anything before 10/14 (to "guarantee" CUPs). When I called Genius, I learned that I have no week and am waiting for a week assignment. My build is pretty basic: LBB, 6MT, Moonroof and Apple CarPlay. Makes me wonder if there are some supply chain issues.

I'm hopeful that my original ED could still be fulfilled, with a car fresh off the line on week 40, the first week of October, my original dates -- I won't hold my breath, but I am worried about getting all season tires.

Anyone know when all season tires are no longer required for ED? Will I get CUP wheels if I do PD (in addition to ED)? My CA said when it comes off the boat, I'll get CUP wheels even if I get all season wheels at ED. I understand that ED beginning 10/15 require winter tires, so I'm tempted to just wait until after the fall / winter to guarantee CUP tires.

All-season or winter tires are required from 10/15 to 4/15.

Did you not get one of your ED dates approved? If you're doing ED the first week of October, your car should be starting production this week...

What is a "CUP" wheel? All M2s come with summer tires - you have to rent all-season or winter tires if you do ED on an M2 from 10/15 to 4/15.

My dates were approved, but it looks like something happened when my original CA left / the new CA came on board. I don't really know why my dates aren't "approved" anymore, and my week 36, 38, 40 allocations keep slipping.

I'm hoping something starts this week and will call Genius again tomorrow.

CUP -- I'm referring to the summer Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 -- my mistake, I misread and see they're now Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I fear that I'll be stuck with all season tires if I'm ED'd 10/15 or later. So it sounds like you're saying I only have to "rent" the all-seasons while in Germany? That sounds solid if I can still receive my car at PD / at the dealer with summer tires.

Only one of the three dates gets approved. If your car is truly scheduled for week 40 [end of] production, which is the first week of October (your requested delivery week), you definitely would not be able to take delivery that week - it wouldn't be done in time plus they need time to truck it from Leipzig to Munich.

I recommend calling BMW NA Special Sales (ED) in the morning (as early as 9am) rather than Genius, in order to figure out the situation: 1-800-932-0831.

Your car will absolutely be shipped to the US with summer tires - it may be Contis rather than Michelin, but it will NOT ship with all-season tires. If you did ED after 10/15, you'd have to rent all-season or winter tires, but the summer tires would be refitted prior to shipment back to the US. So no worries there at least.

Thanks for the advise. Now that I think about it, I never got a date approved, but I did get a week assigned that kept moving around and eventually fell off (as of today). I'll make the call first thing tomorrow. Unfortunate that the CA transition occurred, but I'm hopeful that a delivery the first week of October is still in play.

Thanks for the advise. I just spoke with Special Sales and learned that they only received my order for ED today, not months ago with the original CA who now left the dealer. I kindly explained the situation, and they plan to call Germany to figure out what dates can be offered and circle back on my requested dates, now Oct 2, 4 or 6.

Although the date situation isn't ideal, I want to keep telling myself that I'm lucky to have an ED sticker order in the queue with the few options I requested: LBB, 6MT, Moonroof, Apple CarPlay, and UC+.

One last question: my new CA tells me that $600 UC+ will be added to my order at the dealership when I get the paperwork done. Is this correct? I don't see it on my build sheet, but I thought I've seen it on other's build sheets.

Sounds like old CA dropped the ball... Hopefully they can make it happen - they'd likely need to get your order into production in the next few days.

What is UC+?

Yep, holding my breath. UltimateCare+: parts during the 3 year maintenance period.

We're in week 36 now - is your car supposed to start in week 38, or start now and end in week 38?
