Have some more pics ...

Collection day:

My 1000kr 2er grille surrounds, with M2 centres:

My 500kr CF mirror covers, they're not the nasty stick on type:

I'm bit of a cheap bastard when it comes to extras, dealer fitted the rear CF spoiler for free

Sweet!
Love the carbon fibre and it creates a nice contrast to the AW.

Hey guys!

So jeleaus of all of you who have taken delivery already.

A couple of weeks ago I got my build date...

November build, December delivery...
December FFS!!!
What a joke! Original estimates at time of ordering was spring, early summer.

I have escalated this whole delivery embarressment to BMW SE to seek some kind of compensation so let's see what kind of responsibility is taken by BMW SE.

This is frankly a big f-ing joke...
I was not even going to drive it over winter(except the warm enough days for summer tyres) so now it needs a winter set up just to be driven home from the dealer...

Anyways, saw an LBB parked in central Stockholm last week and it looks so damn good. Makes the wait even harder when they have started popping up on the streets over here...

Just wanted to rant a bit.

Just get the dealer to deliver it to your house.

I feel your pain....was in the same situation myself.
BMW SE did not care when I was trying to get compensation.
God luck for you though.

Yeah, let's see how much they care about their customer relations in this case.
Sorry to hear you had no luck.
I expect something more than a full tank of gas, that's for sure...

Sure, that might work. However it would not be anywhere near a compensation for the delay and lack of communication.

The problem with this is that I dont think the dealer cares enough in this case. They could always sell it to someone else...
I know one guy at my dealership that got mad etc...he later, after trying like you, just cancelled and the dealership found a new buyer the next day..

They could give you a free tank and something else small, but I dont think they will settle for something bigger.

He told me when I was there and pointed on the screen. So unless he can change that info himself in the order/tracking system, that info comes from BMW SE.

hmm, what status did your allocation have? mine recieved a est. DW when it was ststus 111 (ACCEPTED AT AG). And that was approx three months before prod. Yours is almost 10 months from prod?! seems strange

Yeah. My guess is that it is BMW SE that provides a "guesstimate" to help the dealers provide their costumers with a tiny bit of information

I met the guy with the YBS yesterday at Brostugan.

My M2 is standing next to the YBS. You can see it in the background. YBS got Akrapovic and most M Performance parts fitted. Really nice!

What was the mileage on your car when you bought it?

I think it was something like 78 km. Why do you ask? (Hint: I've been driving it since April 18th and not August 1st as it may seem "on paper".)

Ah, ok. I drove it on april 16th and ordered my M2 right after that.
I was a bit surprised when i looked it up in June and found out that Proauto was still listed as the owner since my salesperson told me a customer bought it, now it makes sense!

I hope your drove her gently like a true gentleman.

But yeah, it's a bit complicated. You're not the only one to find that out and wonder why. Sometimes I also ask myself the same question. It just happened. I got the car early but I didn't get any discount at all and paid the full MSRP. In retrospect maybe I overpaid but I don't regret it one bit.

I do think many dealers kind of gave up on selling M2s and decided they didn't need any demo cars. What's the point if there are no cars to be sold?

Here in Uppsala the demo car ended up being test driven by only a few before the sales person himself decided that he wanted it. And after that decision you weren't allowed to test drive it anymore. So there you go....

Yesterday at Brostugan I talked to a couple of guys who ordered in March. They hoped that would get their cars before next summer but they weren't sure yet. Have you heard anything about your delivery?

I honestly did drive her gently . And I think I put most of the 78km on the car. Still liked the car enough to order one!

BMW SE apparently told off all the dealers who put markups on their M2s but at the same time they tell the dealers to try and sell M performance parts to get better margins

I wanted to test drive the M2 they had in Uppsala to get a better feel for the car. But when I drove by, they told me that it wasnt available for test drives anymore and that I "will be able to drive my own M2 when it arrives".

I'm studying in Uppsala at the moment, would it perhaps be possible for me to get a ride in the M2 to feel what it's like on full throttle? Maybe we can compare it with my 911 c2s?

When my dealer checked the ordering system last weekend it showed an estimated delivery in July 2017.
