My M2 is (almost) here : 1.5 month earlier !

Hi,

My M2 was planned for March 31st, but on the February 14th I received a phone call from my dealer: "It's already "there"".

By "there", he means it's waiting for delivery on a big parking lot in Belgium (250km away from me) where the importer (BMW Belgium-Luxembourg) parks new cars.

More than 1 month in advance

The thing is I wasn't ready for it... So I might receive it next week because of paperwork (insurance, financing,...). And I'm going on holidays in the beginning of March too.
It's like a premature baby, not the right timing

I can choose when I want the car to be delivered between today and March 31st.

I already have the VIN , the production date (01-19-2017) and the options list, but one question remains :
I ordered it on April 2016 and Apple Car Play wasn't available yet. So I picked up all the "media option" available. Will it be fitted with Apple Car Play ?

Congrats man. I assume it's the same in Belgium as it is the UK but make sure the dealer does not register the car until the day you want to collect it. The warranty and service plan start from the day the dealer registers it so you don't want to waste the time you are on holiday.

I ordered my MY17 with enhanced Bluetooth and did not spec CarPlay. It is available in idrive as a one off purchase and can be added at any time.

Congrats. Not sure if different over there but my car was produced July 2016...the final week BEFORE CarPlay became a selectable option. But I made sure I selected the ZTV option and eventually, couple months ago, it was retrofitted/available to me. I'm in Canada if that matters.

I'm in the US but there are a lot of not so favorable reviews for the Apple Car Play here which is a $300 option.

Put some stabilizer in the gas tank and a battery tender on her if you are going to not drive her for a month or more.

As noted above, CarPlay is normally a paid option (at least here in the US).

And that said

SAVE YOUR MONEY!

What a horrific option. I still want my money back. My dealer said most people turn it off within a week - I made it two days.

Lmao yea I turned mine off too. It's like invasive where it doesn't need to be (showing your texts contact names to everyone in your car) and clunkier than idrive functions to accomplish the same thing

If I were you, I'd make sure the dealer doesn't use your car as a demo unit before you can pick it up. You should tell them that you'll be checking the mileage.

No. That's an option.
