I put down 500$ to be first in line when the allocation for MY2018 is out and available to order, but I don't expect to actually see the car until at least late august or so.
I thought the production date is when production is completed. Will it really take 2 months after that to get the car?

What I meant is they will probably start producing the cars in July 2017, sometimes it takes up to 8 weeks to get the car in your hands, it's not the case all the time but shipping and your place in line and the volume ordered all factors.

This is directly from my client rep:

F87 172R 1H93 M2 Coupe
Start Production 07/16
Stop Production 06/17
Production Facility - Leipzig

So with 2018 MY units not starting production until July 2017, probably wont get it until mid to late august best guess.

I didn't push delivery of mine out to wait for any changes that may or may not happen, I would just rather pick up the car myself than have my wife go get it since I wont be home until sometime in July.

Yep, this is correct. The plant will be down for most of July too for summer vacations.

aahh now I'm confused if I should really wait until August for the 2018 model or just get the 2017 one. I think I should be patient. The M2 isn't going to be my daily driver anyway.

Someone has already put a deposit for it. Plus I'm looking for one with a DCT.

There are threads on how the process works and how to track your car. Six+ weeks to the East Coast is a reasonable expectation.

My question would be whether or not they are marking up over MSRP or adding a bunch of accessories to increase the price? If I order the M2, I don't mind paying for the Executive or DCT. I do mind paying for a bunch of accessories that bump the price but don't add anything by frivolous ribbons.

I went to the dealer last week to put myself on the 2018 waiting list. I ended up #3. I was told there would be a $800 increase in the price and only change they knew is Apple Play would be included, nothing else they said.

In the US backup camera has to be included standard on MY18 vehicles I think?

Im sure there is no "2018 list". There is just one list, and you are last on it.

Just quoted the dealer who said the 2018 model might have a trim with more more hp, but the details won't be made official until the end of March.

Does anyone know if dealers can hold on to their allocations indefinitely or do they get passed on to other dealers if they are not filled?
