I'm amazed at how long that went on in marketing/advertising for it to be incorrect. Is there not a single car person working in those departments? Pretty embarrassing. |

It wasn't just marketing and advertising. Internal tech materials were affected as well according to representatives I've talked with. I agree, a severe lack of internal oversight and/or communication exists. Obviously, the very few people within the company, who were knowledgeable about the engine technical details, either didn't notice the problem or didn't effectively communicate it. And of course the materials were probably reviewed for technical accuracy before publishing, but not by correctly informed individuals.

Obviously if your local dealer service center has done work on a N55B30T0 block, then you could easily know for sure. But that type of work typically ain't done on new cars. |

I mean, take a look at his post history, starting from his first. There's literally 50+ posts of him calling everyone idiots/fools for even suggesting that it was open deck. He was a serious a-hole about it. Maybe choking on his own foot will result in him cutting down on his posting, or at least his tone...for a bit anyway.

I get being wrong. It happens all the time. It's the arrogance and over confidence that surprised me. He's not gonna man up. He said he was going to shit less now going forward. |

So for now, BMW in its wisdom and highest respect for the fans has the M-sport line, the M performance line, the cheap M line (with an ordinary engine and missing other small bits ), the CS line (where you finally might get a real M motor), the limited and overpriced GTS line or simply the other huge automatic and AWD only “real” M cars or SUVs …
The future seems very bright for future FWD based, automatic, 4 cyl , 2 tons+ future M cars, especially with the resigned and defensive attitude of the unconditional fan boys, willing to swallow anything for the M badge... This is the new BMW we all are supporting/creating... not for more as far as I'm concerned |

Get over it man, you got soooooo upset and walked right into an emotional battle about non sense. You even got so upset you wrote me personally..... Nice job, I had a great laugh. Its my daily driving beater with 9k miles already. Its a hell of a car and a throw away when im done with it. I still think its closed deck and will only believe it when someone opens one and shows me photos..... .Now please get your pants bundled and send me another private message about how meannnnnn and obnoxious i am.... Mostly just interested in the tuning aspects of this forum. My cars a beasstly little coupe at the moment. No need to "troll" to keep it interesting around here anymore. You see all the other members ignore while you just kept walking into the fight? Maybe if you dropped it earlier it would have ended earlier...... Fun times, descent entertainment. |

The worry is not the reason why I'm here. Like you said I'm quite entertained by your posts lol. Also, just FYI, I was here on the M2 forum long before you joined as many senior members would know.

hmm back to the topic - assuming it is open deck- I don't think I would be too keen to tune this engine too much especially any use of E85, more boost or bigger turbo and custom tune.
There must be greater chance of problems? what do others think? |

Did the S54 have a closed or open deck? The S65? Open or closed? I have not one fucking clue, but I'll tell you this; I loved owning and driving them, just as I'll continue to enjoy my N55 M2, block type be dammed.
Anyone claiming a buy back or "false advertising" claim is an idiot.
