That looks like it has the older camo and the wheels also seem like the stock M2 wheels.

It also seems to have a lot more camo on the sides which is how it looked when the car was initially spied.

Why don't people have nicer cameras. The M4 CS was also shot on a shoddy camera.

At first and by itself, but opinions cooled as time has progressed & when compared against other cars:

Oooookay. Did you read the articles in the links you posted? They were pretty positive. Though I will admit the Evo one lost me on credibility when it said the M2 had the block from the 240i. Even if they were negative (which I didn't see) it does not outweigh all the positive impressions that are already out there. Most importantly (to me anyway) is the very local review... I love mine

I understand you are waitlisted for a CS... and maybe will even get an allocation and buy one if not sticker-shocked by the price... but even if it is a total beast, it will not change the fact that the M2 is an awesome car and a super bargain in smiles per dollar. In the meantime... enjoy your wait and good luck!

I totally agree, the M2 is incredible! I'd be totally happy with a standard M2 if the CS wasn't on the horizon and would have bought one already if it had been out when I got my M3. I was just trying to make the point that it has the potential to be better and it looks like BMW is realizing that.

Evo is correct. It was confirmed in another thread that the M2 has the standard N55 block.

Yes, but the 240i has a B58... not the N55!

Don't like the GTS wheels. I hope the M2CS has something much better than those

BMW with the M4 CS wants to make it as quick as possible so throwing a DCT only option makes sense so it has better time on paper.

As for the M2. BMW does not want to make the M2 as fast as possible so it does not step on its big brothers toes.

Making the M2 CS manual only makes a lot of sense to me. Kind of like what Porsche did with the GT4, only offered in manual.

I have two deposits down on a M2 CS so if it comes with DCT only I'm not buying one.

Don't worry. 6MT will be available for the M2 CS.

However, if BMW pulls the smart "M-DCT = standard" trick, the base price will incorporate already that option. Then if BMW offers 6MT as a "free of charge option", we all pay M-DCT money for the 6MT...

Honestly hope for MT only. Helps maintain the M4 CS as the faster car around a track and reduces weight/ cost.

M4 CS will have a tuned S55 (maybe not GTS tuned, but tuned up from the standard), so will have a large hp advantage on the M2 CS to make it faster. I am not sure of the logic of assuming they will make the M4 CS DCT-only, and go an entirely different way with the M2 CS. Why call it the same thing and hve a different philosophy? But I will be happy to be surprised on that, for the sake of all you purists waiting for it.

I hope they offer the M2 CS as a manual only although I do not see that happening. The best case scenario would be to offer the manual as standard and offer the DCT as an option. That would keep everyone happy. We will need to wait and see what happens with the M4 CS.

I will be really pissed off if they offer the DCT as standard and have the manual transmission as a no cost option. I do not think that will happen either because that would equate the DCT to the regular automatic transmission which is also standard on all the regular BMWs with the manual as a no cost option.

Looks like the forthcoming M4 CS will be M-DCT only and get the mild ZCP power bump:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...postcount=1060
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...postcount=1063

The M2 CS test mule spotted (by a German forum member) at BMW M HQ featured a manual transmission.
