On my X3, I used one of the tow hook brackets (made by Platypus - very good quality), and it is working just fine.

However, I think I prefer the appearance of the center mount bracket, and it appears I can install it easily without maiming my M2's bumper.

Again, thanks! -scr
Any time. BTW, it is a well made peice. You'll be suprised. Just remember the adhesion promoter.

Thanks for the adhesive tip. Just placed an order with Big Mikes! When the front plate bracket arrives (free shipping - yay!), it can keep the ASD bypass cable company until my M2 shows up (hopefully by early October). -scr

Another thumbs up for the US Millworks quick release lightened plate mount here. I will say that I'm a little puzzled as to why they cut out big holes from about a third of the way down to the bottom in order to "lighten" it. Why not just do rows of the mounting holes all the way to the bottom? This would have lightened it some and increased your mounting position options quite a bit. I was wishing for at least one more row of mounting holes for the spot I wanted to mount it. Not a big deal though. Well built and a breeze to install. Zero holes to drill. I like the offset look but that would be the only negative if you really wanted it mounted in the center of the bumper.

I bought the US mill works light plate and after a comparison with another M2 on the lot decided not to install it. Because of the shape of the bumper I think the centre mounted plate actually looks better... imo

Here's mine installed for anyone interested. It is slightly angled towards the side because I want to follow the bumper lines. This way the plate isn't too close to my bumper.

Do you have any pics of this on a M2? One thing I'm not crazy about with a standard center mount is how far the plate hangs down.

For some reason these pics made me think of Cindy Crawford's beauty mark/mole, but not as attractive overall.

The plate off to the side looks a little weird to me.

Like I said above the front mounted plate where the two factory holes pop out looks square and lines up well. I actually bought the usmill works plate and after seeing decided to go centre mount and returned it. on most cars and especially subaru the side or tow hook mount looks great. on the M2 to me it looks off.

Yeah it looks weird. I just don't want to drill any holes on my bumper.

Totally get that and agree. Holes stink.

When I had my 350z, some enterprising owner put together a little kit to secure a plate to the front grille, no drilling. He sold a lot of them.

Do you 3M tape or did you screw it in? If just 3M does it hold the plate well when driving or do you only put the plate on when parked? Thanks.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread. What are people running? I've run a tow hook mount for years now and have had mixed results. These designs look pretty good, but what happens when someone touches your bumper? Instead of an invisible mark, you get a ding in the bumper from the plate holder screws. I'm even thinking about zip tying below the bumper.

Just throw your plate in the trunk and if/when you get pulled over tell em that you are waiting for your dealer to schedule the install as it came with no front mount and you didn't know what to do? Helps if you happen to be a blonde female :-]
