Performance Edition M2 in production, dealer looking for buyer
Got an email from my SA this morning. They have a M2 performance edition in production, Alpine white, manual, M drivers package and the performance package (coilovers and carbon bits). This is apparently limited to 150-200 cars for the US. PM me for his details if your interested. I am going to pass on this one but would like to give someone in the community a crack.

Same with me. The dealership is technically offering it to the guy in front of me but gave me a heads up. I preemptively passed on the car since I personally don't think the performance edition is worth it. Not sure how many people are in line behind me but if anyone is interested I can send you my client advisor's contact info. Dealership is in NC.

Too funny. After a year of demand outpacing supply they can't get rid of a not-so-special edition cause everyone would rather have the standard very special version of the car.

Agreed.. I think it's BS that they are making 150 copies of basically the same car with a different set of options when there are hundreds if not thousands of customers trying to get their allocations..

No one wants a 2017 M2, everyone is waiting for LCI M2. I sure am. The facelift with new headlights is worth much more than the Performane Package.

It seems targeted to those who want a pretty dedicated track car, I can't imagine there are a ton of those folks out there that want to drop 60k on a dedicated track car that isn't a fully dedicated track car. Seems like a weird direction to go in but I am sure they will sell them all eventually.

I mean I am still looking for an allocation like crazy, don't really want to wait on the LCI if I can help it. Probably still get a Q2 allocation soon but I was trying to snag a late Q1 allocation, but no luck. I agree that the Performance Package isn't anything special. At least when I got my 2010 STI special edition it had upgraded suspension bits and nicer wheels with a unique factory finish. It was also stripped to a more basic version (only halogen lights, no turn signals on side mirrors, basic stereo/no nav, and basic A/C) but it was also several thousand dollars cheaper than the standard car. I know the performance edition M2 has a lot of M Performance parts so I wasn't expecting a cheaper car but it should definitely have a deeper discount than what is provided and not require the M Drivers Package.

This is the factory clearing out the 2017 by March 1 for the arrival of the 2018. What better way to make sure all 2017's are gone and to please dealers who have been bitching about not making any coin on this heap since launch.
